As Calvin Murphy said, Brooks will be a great player for the Rockets but not a star. I'm assuming they are doing this to flip him to another team or replace one of our pg's after we trade one. Nate also has a 4mil expiring contract this year.
I'll agree this year and only this year that Brooks is the superior player. But that doesn't change my opinion that I think Robinson is better overall. They're both mediocre passers. I think Robinson has slightly better vision than Brooks. Robinson is the better playmaker. Brooks more consistent? That's funny. The only consistent thing about Brooks this year is the minutes he's gotten. Nate plays better D. Nate is more athletic, stronger, has equal speed and is very close on the quickness level in comparison to Brooks. Nate is the better player and he's always been the better player. He's also the better prospect. Robinson has has more fire and passion as well. Lil b*stard won't back down from anybody and he has a certain swagger to him. And if DD said Brooks is gonna be a star then you KNOW WE'RE ****ED. All of these are my opinion of course.
Maybe were trying to play keep away from the fakers.i would hate to see nate on brooks in the 1 round instead of old man fisher.
My hutch feeling is Chicago is involved in any Bosh deal as Toronto will try to replace Bosh with Deng as they tried signing him before Chicago inked him, but Chicago strategy at the very worst was to see Tracy play and then make a decision from there, but they would be furthur under the cap at the very worst. My hutch feelings normally don't let me down either. Trade1: is between Chicago, Toronto, Houston Trade2: was Washington, Portland, Houston Trade3: is Houston, Philly Trade4: based on the article will probably include Boston, Philly, Houston, Toronto. I think Philly wants to be very aggressive in dumping salary as much as possible and will be using Iggy and Speights to unload Dalembert and Brand which will also include Brooks, Hayes, Rondo pieces. I think this move if they pull it off more than compensates the loss vs attendance for Philly. When looking around the league on my knowledge alone it's like tic-tac-toe moves. This was a strategy at low ball offers trade 1,2,3... is my gut feeling. i think in the end we will be involved with trades (4).. Look at our strategy is to unload all the cap space and by this i mean they are willing to move everybody if needs be and go out on a limb for Bosh and possibly Bargnani, Rondo, Iggy, Dalembert with only Lowry, Yao at worst under contract. What they are looking at is a.miller in Portland being moved to Washington for Scola and Butler to Houston and Ariza for a Andersen-Bayless swap. This ties into trade:2 Trade:3 went down the drain, because Philly will be aggressive and might need 2 other teams to achive their goals which includes many pieces from Houston and a 4th team (Toronto) to make it work.
Sorry, but that's a crazy statement to make unless you're a proven psychic. Those scenarios are WAY out there.
Having the shortest center in NBA history isn't enough. The Rockets are going for the shortest starting line up ever. Nate 5'9 Brooks 6' Lowery 6' Landry 6'9 Chuck 6'6 In reality its probably more like: 5'8 5'10 5'11 6'7 6'6
Nate is probably the most selfish player in the league. He makes Tracy look like an angel in comparison.
Well basically, the overall goal was land Bosh even at all expenses, use Speights to do so for Dalembert, highball Landry and Brooks and to cut payroll Battrizza, Scola as much as possible to re-ink Bosh. Boston though is high-balling Rondo to take on Brand at worst and this could take Brooks, Hayes and possibily Budinger just to pull it off. Sweetners was Landry-Bargnani swap. Boston unloads Perkins, Scalabrine and Wallace to Philly is what they'd be asking at best. McGrady to Philly for Iggy. and your right that is way out there lolz. In the end Houston gets Bosh, Bargnani, Rondo, Iggy and Boston improves, Philly unloads there three biggest contracts and Toronto gets Speights, Landry and Batrizza, Scola A deal of this magnitude would probably never happen simply because of Cook.
Exactly. By this report, it just means in the preliminary talks that NY and Hou had regarding McGrady, Knicks probably offered Nate in a package for Tmac. I wouldn't put too much stock into the idea based on just Hou being mentioned in the statement.
Nate Robinson is not really the type of player that this team needs. I disagree with the notion that our "interest" in Robinson implies some sort of one-or-the-other ultimatum between he and Brooks. In case some of you haven't noticed but we are extremely thin at the point and essentially one Brooks or Lowry injury away from having to throw one of those guys to the wolves at 40 MPG. Judging by how well that strategy worked under Rafer's regime, I'd say that's not the smartest proposition in the world.
I actually think Lowry has a better chance in succeeding in the league more than Brooks and Nate. Reason is because Lowry just doesn't have a jumpshot. Well, given the right training and coaching, his jump shot will get better and then he would be very tough to guard. I think Kyle Lowry is a good PG. He is very intelligent with the basketball, he is a good defender, a good rebounder.
Im happy you think so but not so. This is called fantism. Ofcourse you route for your guys. But Nate does so much more, especially in a same minutes type comparison. But if AB is staying it would be redundant.
I actually wouldn't mind this trade too much, depending on what we give up. Something like McGrady and Dorsey for Mobley, Darko, and Robinson would be all right, by my books.
