Morey is probably going for depth on the bench, in case canaan doesnt pan out, he still needs more work. Basically insurance if canaan takes longer/never pans out, or beverly or Lin god forbid gets injured.

 

As a UT kid I love Gibson but my goodness 34% shooting last year? And 34.5% from 3? I realize it's obviously not the same without LeBron but man that's pretty bad. Then again that wasn't much of a team last year in Cleveland outside of Kyrie so now with Howard, Harden and Parsons drawing much attention along with dribble penetration of Harden and Lin, Gibson's 3pt% should be much better as he'll get better looks.

But idk I just don't know if it's worth it. We already have 3 PGs do we really need another one. Besides, if we're already paying Canaan might as well see how he can do
