It wouldn't be the first time that Morey has leaked rumors of a trade for a player that he liked. Morey has always been active, and I'm glad that he has the mind to not make a trade rather than make a bad one. But that last statement is a little preemptive seeing that free agency hasn't yet begun.

Obviously they like Dwight better, but it IS a vote of confidence that the deals they had today were seemingly not good enough to part with Robinson. It is something...

HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THE DIFFERENCE D12 MAKES IN HOUSTON AND LA? He makes like $9 million more in LA and he has to sign an extra year there. That is not worth it.

As long as the mavs dont move marion the rockets are a lock for dwight howard even if they dont move anyone.

I don't see the attraction to Dallas. He gets all of the benefits that he would there in Houston, with a much better team that he would instantly make a contender. I think there is a better chance he stays in LA than moving to Dallas.

Not really just sounds like someone else might be getting traded instead. Maybe Lin, Delfino, or AB, there money still on the books until 30th. DM always makes off peak trades and we never know they May think they don't have a good chance a getting D12 so are going into Plan B mode. My KG and Rondo idea got blew up, but Rondo himself is still out there. we will see.

What exactly were they offered? What if teams asked Rockets to pay them to take Robinson?

Will the Rockets please just trade Robinson so we dont have to sit here and read a million posts a day from CH about how bad Thomas Robinson is and how terrible of a move it was for Morey to have made?

Right it would be awful to stay the course and let the young core of Harden, Parsons, and Asik grow together.

I have no problem with the lack of activity tonight. Believe it or not Morey doesn't make trades just for the sake of being active.

True, it is much easier to move 3.5 million guaranteed for 1 year than it is to move 9 million. Especially considering the 14 year age difference.

While I agree, Morey knows he's got to sacrifice to clear the cap space to offer a superstar the max. He may have to sacrifice a bit in value to do that.

So we should rely on complete speculation to support your crusade?

If it means the difference between getting D12 and not getting him, I'd ship TRob to whoever wants him with a pick and a load of cash to sweeten the deal. If worse comes to worst, his contract will NOT get in the way of that pursuit, I think.

And of course if necessary we can always look at moving some of our other PFs. Rather avoid it, but if you have to do it to get Dwight, you do it.

It's assumed Delfino and Brooks' contract will not be picked up. They'll still need to move more salary even after those guys are off the books.

Kind of a stupid question. Who knows?

Then perhaps the Rockets said "**** that, we like Robinson, let's try and move Lin's salary instead."

Obviously asking a hypothetical question. We'll hear the truth soon enough. The scenario that other teams think Robinson is worthless and don't want to take on his $3.5M contract is one of several reasonable scenarios.

What we do know is that the "imminent" trades for a first round pick mentioned by Feigen and Stein, and which some people here celebrated, didn't happen. Not imminently, at least not by any definition of "imminent" known to me.

Thomas Robinson will not get in the way of us signing Howard. At worst we could always ship out Asik for a cheaper player. If Howard says he will sign the Rockets will get the necessary cap space somehow.
