The earlier a draft day trade is leaked and the longer it's not consummated. It's probably not going to happen.

That point was brought up way back when Morey tried to trade up for the 6th? pick to get Brandon Rush.

 

I think there was a tweet a while back that says there's a 3-way team trade chatter with Rockets/Bulls/Blazers.

LaMarcus Aldridge wants trade to Chicago. Bulls want LaMarcus Aldridge from Blazers. Blazers want equal value. Rockets want to get rid of T-Rob.

Bulls have a $5M trade exception that expires in a couple of weeks. Bulls can take T-Rob into that exception (which they have to use it or lose it) and then flip T-Rob to the Blazers as part of a trade package for Aldridge.

Right now, Blazers want Noah. Bulls say no, but maybe a package with Deng, T-Rob, etc.

Houston probably doesn't want to help Bulls get Aldridge if the Rockets want him themselves. But if they facilitate, Bulls would take T-Rob out of their hands and give back no salary to help the Dwight chase, maybe give back a pick or draft rights.

Multi-team trades tend to fall apart more often than not. So who knows if the Bulls/Rockets/Blazer deal will go through. Especially with Bulls and Blazers both posturing over Noah.

I hope Morey has another fallback option for T-Rob if he can't move him in the Bulls/Blazers/Rockets deal.

 

I'm glad we didn't trade up to the first round this year and am confident DM had no intention of doing so unless it meant significantly upgrading the roster. It made no sense to do so when we are chasing bigger fish.

Seconded TRob will be a player in this league. Lets dump Lin instead.

 

They liked him so much that they leaked rumors of his imminent trade to both Feigen and Stein. Yep, they always intended to keep him. Sounds like a total vote of confidence.

 

Where will the cap room now come from for Dwight come? Are there other options besides using the stretch provision on Lin's contract.

 

I'm going to laugh my head off if Carl Herrera turns out to be right and the Rockets have to package a pick to dump T-Rob. PPat will have his revenge! (doubt it though)

 

Damn...if this is a sign of things to come this is going to be a very rough offseason.
