Stefan Bondy: Source:Nets have talked to the Cavs about acquiring CJ Miles for the No. 22 pick. Twitter @NYDNInterNets

Maybe we'll be trading Robinson (maybe White) for #22?

they can offer T-rob, Mirotic, charolettes no 1 next year (only top ten protected) in a deep draft. If bobcats have any improvement this could actually be had in one of the best drafts.

I think that plus a useful player or two could get the deal done.

I'm curious to know if you & others feel that if (hypothetically speaking) he pulled himself together, got in shape & is ready to play this season if yall would still want him gone.

He could really come ready to contribute. Or he act that same as he did last season. But just giving him away shouldn't be an option.

A lot of people would think a $1 isn't a lot of money, but Morey (I believe) is too smart to just throw his $1 in the trash.

If we were to acquire Dwight Howard, we would need to put the best team on the floor in order to contend. The Rockets could use Royce White's caphold for much better things and much more immediate help. Its as simple as that.

That fact that Royce behaved like he did last year makes it very possible that he'll do it again -- maybe less of the nonsense, but maybe even MORE of it. Even if he shows up motivated and in shape, it's absolutely not worth the potential distraction for someone who is pretty much a one-trick pony (big guy who can pass like a PG).

Not sure you can really rely on him after all that transpired last year. Extreme wild-card that's not worth the risk when we're trying to build a championship contender.

Before this whole Whitemare I was intrigued by him - but I didn't think he was ready to contribute until he added a jumper.

Now about a year he has hardly played, it seems like he gained weight and that his "mission" is a lot more important to him than basketball.

So far he has been a major negative for the team - his tweets and him throwing the team under the bus are just one part of the problem.

Now even if he would be willing to put everything behind him and start working hard and only concentrate on basketball I am not sure, if the capspace wouldn't be more valuable to us (remember, even without t-Rob wen can't offer Dwight the full max). So it is not throwing away a dollar. It is closing a dark chapter to open a new one.

So in this draft what would give us the better odds of landing a solid rotation player, taking two guys at 19/20 and 34, or trading our two picks for something in the 14-16 range?

That's what I'm saying (but didn't say). If he knows he's going to get playing time (And assuming that playing would cease the anxiety) there's no reason not to play him, even if they do just want to get rid of him. Attempt to increase his value first.

He isn't in the position to stop Rockets organization from competing for a championship. The Rockets will be a good team with or without him. He knows that. When he was drafted last season, the Rockets were projected to be horrible. Everyone expected all three rookies who were drafted to have playing time. White started all that mess before Harden was traded here, and I'm sure when he wasn't tweeting he was kicking himself for how he acted.

White knows that with or without Dwight coming, Rockets will be good, WAY better than what was projected before his rookie season began. I don't think even he would be dumb enough to mess this up (like last season) if he really wants to not only play in the NBA, but have a chance to play for a really good team.

As talented as these young players are, a lot of them make the mistake of believing the team needs them. That "I'm too good to not be playing" syndrome. Those emotions are what triggered his anxiety. If he didn't strongly believe that the Rockets needed him more than he needed the Rockets, he would have handled himself entirely different.

Hopefully everything that happened encouraged him to humble himself.

Hmm maybe you're right. If there was a situation that could get him to turn it around, maybe this is it. If he screws up a chance with a potential contender, no other team will want him to be a piece of theirs either (I hope).

Unfortunately, White's potential is only for further disaster. Even if Royce the White were transformed into Gandolf the White, he still would be useless without a staff.

The trouble is that staff would be comprised on a team of trainers and shrinks to keep him grounded when he needs to be soaring.

OKC will probably grab Adetokunbo with the 12th pick... Heck, in this draft he could actually go in the top 10...

there is very little potential with white. I assure you if there was any way rockets could get rid of him (off their books) they would. nobody wants him.

don't know what the guy is going through, so won't judge, but he made his own decisions throughout last season and they were all very very bad decisions for his nba career.

Bulls or Spurs have improved offer for Rockets F Thomas Robinson, I'm told. Cavs may be left out at the end.
