Since when do we hear stuff that's brewing behind the scenes with Morey.

Kevin Martin Deal: No rumors before it got done.

    Artest Deal: No Rumors.

    Lowry Deal: No Rumors.

For all we know Morey's got any number of deals that are ready to go if we don't land Bosh. Or he can hold onto our assets until the trade deadline and land us another Kevin Martin type deal that we never see coming.

  maybe you should call morey and ask him to announce everything so the public can know exactly what is going on.

I hope the backup plan is waiting until the deadline to see what kind of deals become available. This also gives us half a season to let the young guys work on their game, which will increase their trade value even further.

    It's not just six options.

It's a six alternative flow chart of ranked alternatives, their possible outcomes, and a muti-step path for the most logical subsequent actions from each conclusion. All expressed as a game theory algorithm being continuously crunched and refined by banks of super computers in Cold War-era underground bunker about 50 miles north of Houston.

Hate to disappoint everyone...but it appears that the 6 "options" were simply 6 free agents they reached out to at the start of free agency.

According to Feigan on tonight's Sport Sunday show, the rockets sent out 6 books to recruit guys. He said 2 of them were Amar'e and JJ. didnt mention bosh, but i'm sure it was implied, since he was the topic. He guess Lebron would have received one too...so:

    Bosh
    JJ
    Amare
    Lebron

that's 4 of the 6....now im not sure if all 6 were big FA names that were longshots or 6 FAs in general....if it's in general then i'd say Miller is the 5th....if it's all long shot stars then i'm guessing Wade and Melo are the last two.

To give this silly topic a serious answer:

The reason why we haven't heard much about Rockets pursuing anyone beside Bosh, and Brad Miller, besides that their tendency to play the cards close to the vest, is that unlike the teams with cap room and depleted rosters, the Rockets are not all the freaked out about not getting Bosh.

Teams like MIA, NY, NJ, and even CHI have a lot of roster spots to fill especially if they are not getting Lebron/Wade/Bosh. And we are not just talking end of rotations ones, they need good starters. They need to get a jump on the contingency plans-- Amare, Lee, Boozer, Joe Johnson (now gone), etc. or risk coming back with totally sucky teams (especially true for MIA if Wade is gone.. .only got 2 guys under contract). Otherwise, won't be good for the team's record, or for season ticket sales.

The Rockets can afford to let thing settle down because the result of missing out on their FA pursuit is likely that they bring back Scola (not Bosh, but not a bad player) and likely have a playoff-caliber team at the start of the season. They can afford to wait for the next opportunity to presents itself (could it be Chris Paul?) before making a move. Besides, I believe that the Rockets thinking is that, unlike Bosh, guys like Boozer and Lee are not a big enough upgrade from Scola to be worth expending their assets for.

please read my previous post, it was 6 booklets! already sent out....rockets may have other options, but their 6 plans seem to all be out and they'll probably strike out on all of them, assuming miller wasnt one.

I actually read a rumor from a website that will not be named because of obvious reasons that the Rox reached out to Minnesota for Al Jefferson ,FINALLY, but take it for what its worth.

If the Rockets have the assets to be serious contenders for at least one of the top 3 free agents, don't you think they will have dersirable assets to use in trades WHEN/IF they strike out on Plan A.

There will be a major roster move made no matter whether Bosh comes here or not.

Granger, G. Wallace, Iggy, Biedrins, etc....some team looking to rebuild and coveting expirings, picks and young talent will make an offer for some of the assets involved in a possible Bosh S&T...

I thought it was 6 plans to acquire an All Star not a backup like Miller
