Can somebody put the Oilers logo on the football cake for old time sake! j/k, but dang, that IS a saaaaweeeet spread.
yeah, i think it'd be cool to see the old/new stros logos on 1 and the oilers/texans logos on another
oh man, a rockets themed red velvet cake........that would be amazing. i know who i want doing my wedding cake: memorial bakery.
I went to a wedding where the groom had played some college ball. I forget which team (some small division 2 school), but they had made a sheet cake that was a mini replica of the court he played on with the logos and everything. Maybe you could make the court with the logos as your cake.
Yeah, I was thinking about doing a replica of the Toyota Center court with a red velvet cake with fudge filling. I need to dig up some photos of what the NBA does during the finals, since I'd like the court to look like it was the 2008 NBA finals.
My best friend had a Rockets themed wedding cake. The best part was when the bridesmaids and grooms men were announced we did it to the old rockets starting lineup with the Dj actually announcing us by the city we were born and height and we came down the stage and high fived everyone...it was a blast.
My wife got me a very p.i.m.p groom's cake. To this day people still tell me it was the nicest one they have seen. People do ones with the actual longhorns on a cake but she thought bronze with the seal was classier than a big orange longhorn. I was a little sceptical at first but like always she was right.
It is a southern tradition. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A groom's cake is a wedding tradition typically associated with the American South. While a wedding cake may often be decorated in white and light in texture and/or color, the groom's cake can take a variety of forms, many incorporating chocolate or fruit. Cheesecake sometimes serves as a groom's cake. The decoration of the cake may reflect the favorite hobby or interest of a groom, or be used for humorous effect, as depicted in the film adaptation of Steel Magnolias, in which a red velvet cake was fashioned in the shape of an armadillo. The groom's cake is often served at a separate table from the wedding cake at a wedding reception, though it may be served as a dessert for a rehearsal dinner. Somewhat mirroring legend associated with wedding cakes, a young lady who sleeps with a slice of groom's cake under her pillow will supposedly dream of the man she will marry.
Man BigSherv I don't ever think I've seen a quadruple post on the BBS before haha. Coming from one UT alum to another that groom's cake you had is dope. Your wife was right it definitely looks better than a big orange longhorn.
Sometimes I see a tread and I post before I read all the way through. Then I see another post I need to reply to. Before i know it I have 3-4 posts.
I had the most pimptastic UTEP groom's cake at my wedding. And it was a Tres Leches cake as well, the sucker tasted GREAT!
