I was looking through the Houston Rockets Greatest Moments calender that was given out at a game not too long ago and was wondering what other people might consider to be their greatest Rockets memory. Mine personally would be the first championship we won when Clutch City was born. T-Mac's 13 in 35 would be second. Not only because of what he did but because what team he did it against. What do you guys think?
Obviously the champinoships but: 22-game winning streak Advancing to the second round against Portland Taking the Lakers to 7 Drafting Hakeem/Yao Also, the fall of the Utah Jazz and Karla, John Flopton and Jessica Hornacek never winning a championship.
If you exclude 2 chips you get 1. 22 game winning streak AND advancing to second round last year and taking LA to seven games without Yao or TMac Individual achievements like 13 in 35 are great but it's more important to mention excellent drafting of players during past few years and overall management of the team. Brooks, Landry, Budinger drafting and Scola, Lowry trades are incredible.
As much as I enjoyed the first championship, the second one was so much better. The first championship had the Phoenix series as classic, but that is about it. The finals against NY were ugly. The second championship was a lesson in basketball to the rest of the NBA.
