Love the enthusiasm but he didn't even make the rising all star team. Yah that is a sham but no way does someone who doesn't even make that team would currently be considered the 2nd best player from the draft by the league
Thank you J.R. if I bring it up Hemingway calls me a narcissist. Lol I was high on Cam Whitmore over a year prior to us drafting him. Posted him as our starting SF by mid rookie season or going into year two. Kinda turned away from basketball because I would rather see the kids playing and lose instead of watching VanVleet/Dillon. Lost respect for Ime Udoka and his ego demanding the team make the playoffs to preserve his streak. ( Imo ), trading Jalen Green for a player with more experience at the moment is a desperate move. I've equated it to, "don't trade rookie MJ for more experienced Dominique Wilkins"......it would have ended up the Hawks winning all those championships. Tip of the cap to you J.R. for all the fine work you do on this site.
It's cuz of his minute restriction, he didn't get enough stats as he was nailed to the bench until everybody got injured. If the all star game happened at the end of the year instead of the middle he'll be there.
I hear you and agree it’s a very limited sample size, but if the scouts were to watch footage of the past few weeks where he’s scored over 100 points in basically the same amount of minutes played (and the way he’s done it against LeBron and others) it would be very difficult to take a Scoot Henderson over this guy. Players go on streaks, but there is something special with Cam….this is only going by the “eye test” but his game has the ability to be rarely electric and he’s only 19. Don’t flame me, but the last time I saw a Rocket dominate a game where the crowd was literally going “ahhh” and you could physically hear the “ahhhs” was with James Harden in his prime. This kid may have that ability if coached right and given the opportunity. We have Udoka so no issues there.
Cam definitely has superstar potential written all over him. He is like a man among boys right now and he is just a boy. He will be truly scary when he really grows up. Cam and Sengun have the makings of a truly dynamic duo with Jabari, Tari, and Amen being the perfect supporting cast. Note: Amen has superstar potential too if he ever develops his long ball.
Ooh that was when he was in the Gleague, I still think that Atari starting over Jalen makes us better as does Cam. Tari starting at SF sliding Brooks to SG. DD
