not sure I trust this but if it’s ime pushing for KD, rockets should make him choose between KD or FVV. Ime is the big proponent of keeping Fred clearly. Choose your avenue. I think it’s clearly KD. Trading KD + Cam + picks is such an easier avenue to have a non back breaking risk here

I’d take whitmore top 5 in this class today. Getting out of favor in a loaded roster is not reason to fire sale, a bat s*** crazy way to manage assets. Not to mention the overlooked value in his low cap hold.

It’s unreal how low our own fan base value Tari Eason. On any advanced stats level he is the top 2-3 most valuable player on THIS team already. Extending him with his injury history till now is actually not as crazy as you may think.

All these for a 37 declining (albeit still very good) Kevin Durant. Please understand how bats*** crazy this is.

Rockets are in a place to demand MULTIPLE FRPs for EACH of their young guys in as soon as a year from now and you guys cannot wait to dish them out in free food platters. Amazing.

Every day in my head, I debate this package, what I think is best and the max that I would pay.

I probably have more faith than Jalen Green than most but I also realize it’s time to give Amen the ball. And on top of that Sengun Is signed for five more years and I’m not sure where he ends up, but I’m pretty sure that that contract will remain a bargain. And he too needs shots.

There aren’t shots for Jalen Green. Cam or Reed will have to become a fluent at attacking the room or we will have to address this later on down the road. I’m less worried about it because we can facilitate from the center spot.

I truly believe you can build a lineup around Sengun/Amen as long as the other three players are shooters. Amen Can make up for a lot of defensive deficiencies, and Sengun can do more than just score he can distribute.

Smith is a shooter and defensive rebounds at a high level. He fits great with those guys.

Durant Is one of the best shooters of all time and is coming off an amazingly efficient season doing just that. He’s tall and he can get his shot off whenever he wants. Fits well.

The 5th Starter is the conundrum. Only Sengun and Amen can really create offense for others and it’s not like it’s something that they’ve been doing a ton for us yet. Reed is the long term fit here while FVV should be the band-aid.

    Im trying to get to

    Sengun/Adams
    Smith
    Durant/Tari
    FVV/Cam
    Amen/Reed

nine man rotation with Jakucionias off in the pipeline.

They want teams to bail them out from their bad mistakes and they ain’t doing it. Now will Stone do it? That’s yet to be seen…..

Spurs are NOT going to give up the # 2 pick for a geriatric, oft injured, Durant.

I gotta think that Green/Cam/Jock/10 gets this done if we want.

No one is going to beat that but honestly it should be FVV or Brooks instead of Green.

I think you agree, but can’t tell. My post was supposed to be longer. Tari at 20 million a year (supposed extension) is a steal and would be one of the most value added contracts around. Like you, I laugh when posters add 2-3 young players plus picks for geriatrics whose contracts make them negative value in today’s 2nd apron pseudo hard cap. I just worry that Stone doesn’t have the “Stones” to navigate this part of the process

Too much. Keep Cam. Add some throw-in like Holiday. Not Cam.

    Easy Deal:

Suns GET: Van Vleet ( Rockets pick up his option)
    Jock Landale
    10th overall
    Suns 1st in 2027

    Rockets Get : Durant

Nice and clean. I wouldn’t offer any more than this for a soon to be 37 year old with an Achilles injury on his resume.

You can the sign a vet PG to help Reed develop and you still have your depth. I’d bring Adams back too.

I’m with this. The only team bidding against us now is Minnesota, they don’t have much to offer. I would even add a future 2nd to the deal. The suns are getting cap flexibility and assets in this trade, they won’t find a better deal.

Problem is we agree but the Rockets as an organization don’t. They seem to be operating like FVV is nearly untouchable

Exactly. Van Vleet’s deal is one year and Landale’s is easy to get out of. As a second apron team they’d save a ton of money over the long haul. The picks belonged to them and gives them a future.

Meanwhile the Rockets still have assets left (the Brooklyn Swap & the Suns 2029 pick) to make a move, they could run it back minus Van Vleet with their young core plus Durant or make a low key signing on the market.

    It’s a win-win for both organizations.

I think you offer Brooks + Landale SNt Maybe Tate., and 27 first Rd . This is old man Durant were talking about. Lol.

You could easily get Beasley to replace Brooks or something in free Agency..

Im not sure about that. If that were the case I dont think that team option deadline gets pushed back. If they were absolutely intent on keeping him they could've already worked on an extension or just picked up the option.
