If the Suns are serious about taking Jalen then you gotta get this done ASAP. Keep Jabari but tell them they can get some of their picks back. You have a chance to get a champion, mvp, Olympic champion, 1st ballet HOFer that’s still lethal. You don’t miss out on that because you wanna keep Jalen finger nail polish frickin Green.
Now you are just showing a severe lack of NBA knowledge. Whether the Rockets trade Jalen or Jabari or any of their draft picks, it is essentially trading someone 23yr old or younger for KD. Because by definition every eligible draft pick is 22yr old or younger, and Jalen is 23. So yeah, if you want KD you are giving up on the potential future Jordan or Kobe or Jokic, regardless of whether Jalen is in that deal of not. Cause the Suns obviously aren't just taking FVV and Dillon Brooks in the deal.
I agree completely, we have to get used to the idea.....Tari is going to be one of the oldest with 23-24...... All our 'real' assets other than Brooks and FVV are about 20-23.....
But what are their options if Durant only wants to be traded to Houston? It's either FVV, 10th and future pick or keeping him as a Sun. Rockets do not have to Jalen or Jabari to acquire Durant.
Jalen can get his own shot, but nowhere close to an efficient level shot taker, not really a shot maker…but somebody had to do it on this team the past few seasons, so his skillset had some use even if his efficiency was way below par Now with KD to fill that role and do it 10x better along with the continued emergence of Amen Thompson and Sengun who will need his touches, Jalen’s shot attempts and usage will go down noticeably Aside from getting shots up, what does Jalen really provide? Rebounding? Playmaking? Great defense? Not really How much is he gonna have the ball in his hands? Would he even get more than 13-14 shots a game? I’d rather have Jabari shooting his midrange shots, spotting up from 3, and his defense and rebounding from the forward spot than possible 4th option Jalen…Jabari could just continue the low usage role he’s been doing his entire career and hopefully bring his 3 point percentage up a little more I prefer a 4th option Jabari and everything else he provides at PF to a 4th option Jalen Green or Jalen with significantly lower usage
Yeah, give them Tari. (Yeah I’m a [keep] Jabari over Tari guy if one has to go.) Still overpaying (maybe by a lot) for a 37-year old. Spoiler Jalen? Jabari? 10th pick? Maybe another pick? Jalen Jabari 10th pick Vassell /OR/ Keldon Barnes /OR/ Sochan 14th pick Randle /OR/ Gobert DiVincenzo? /AND-OR/ Dillingham? 17th pick Wiggins /OR/ Rozier /OR/ Robinson (salary filler; choose two) Jovic /AND-OR/ Jaquez 20th pick Powell /AND-OR/ Bogdanovic /AND-OR/ Jones 30th pick & future picks? [Suns wishing/hoping “Could we get Zubac?!”] Barrett /AND-OR/ Quickley /AND-OR/ Poeltl 9th pick It’s tempting to add him but it’s just as possible he plays 55 games a year, making $55M-$60M the next 3 years. Plays less games than money he makes. People were frustrated with Tari. What about this guy? (Or others who want Zion & LaMelo) Didn’t it work out in Brooklyn. (OK, Kyrie/Covid, his toe on line, whatever) Didn’t it work out in Phoenix. Came close in OKC but it hasn’t worked anywhere outside of Golden State. Udoka can’t play him 38-40+ minutes. Fred-Dillon-Amen-Durant-Sengun Reed?-Cam?-Tari? OK, we’re a “Durant away” from getting out of the first round (we were also down 3-1). Not a Durant away from a Finals. This ain’t a Finals team. I don’t know, I’m split. I see both sides. Get him for your price, go for it. Jalen, Jabari, top 10 pick, possibly another pick, ehhh. KD 54.7 = Jalen+Jock+Holiday+10 (51.2) Take it or leave it. Jalen+Dillon (55.4)
KD is not getting traded to Houston. But could Houston be in the KD trade? Hmm. We already saw this last year with Stone arbitraging the Mikal Bridges to NY trade. I would look out for potentially PHX “getting their 2025 pick back” by swapping us draft assets they get back for KD. Ishbia is irrational like that - he probably thinks of #10 still as “his pick” and values it more than a typical #10.
Jalen and KD had roughly the same usage rate last year. 27% vs. 28% and if Jalen had KD's efficiency on offense, then the Rockets would have a top-5 offense instead of being 13th. So assuming KD makes a small drop, that's still a clear top-10 offense to go alongside a top-5 defense. That is a championship contending team.
I mean, why do you hate on the 10th pick? What makes you think the 10th pick doesn't have more potential than Jalen? I mean the 10th pick is likely only 19yrs old and Jordan was still in college at age 19. And the 10th pick doesn't have a $100mil contract.
I don’t understand what the Heat are even trying to do…y’all are a play-in team, go sit down somewhere if the Wolves get KD, they’ll for sure be better than us next season along with OKC, Denver, GS, and maybe the Lakers
I can only imagine how you are going to feel when Pat Riley pulls off Terry Rozier, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, their 20 pick, and an unprotected 2028 FRP for Durant lol.
I’d be mostly confused because I don’t understand what the Heat are doing you’re a play-in team in the East, know your place They didn’t want to extend Jimmy Butler who took them to 2 finals, but will give up assets for KD and extend him? somebody gotta explain that one to me but if the Rockets think they can just run it back while we fall further behind in the West, then
If the Rockets don't land Durant, I would love for him to end up in Miami wasting away the last productive years of his career.
I've gotta believe this is really between the Rockets and T-Wolves. I discount the Heat because it just doesn't make sense. DB + #10 anyone? (Maybe add Jalen too).
