Yes, because they are overvaluing Booker. We might as well forget Booker in any trade scenario. He is not going anywhere. I think we will acquire Durant and extend him 1 year.
if we think we can win a championship in the next two yrs with the roster we have plus KD (or realistic subsequent moves to strengthen the roster), we should pull the trigger. If we don’t think KD gets us to legit champ contender we probably shouldn’t make a deal. To me it’s that simple. Does Sengun, Bari, Amen, KD, Fred, Dillon, Tari and Jalen get you past OKC? I don’t know. It would probably get u #2 in the west again. KD is still a top 10 player based on what I saw last yr.
Without FVV it gives us a chance. Also acquiring Durant doesn’t have to be the only move. He should only cost us 1 of Phoenix picks. There are plenty of other opportunities and assets to re-balance the offense.
Uh huh... Lowering price and wanting ALL their draft capital back....starting with #10. All that posturing... Come to Daddy. Durant AND Booker ARE in play.
Agree with this. I'm firmly in the latter. Too many variables still working against us to be a true contender. I don't want KD in pretty much any scenario. Even if we're just giving Cam up, you still have to match salary which would cost you FVV or Brooks.
I was thinking send Jalen to Brooklyn, Claxton to Phoenix, Durant here but yeah never mind. Didn’t work in the trade machine. Top draft center is Maluach (leaning towards not being available at 10) and then Queen. He’s making $54M so gonna have to cobble together some salary or Ime’s gonna have to get comfortable without Fred. I’m not really looking to give up Amen, Sengun, Jabari or Reed for 1/2 years of 37 year old Durant. Cam, ok, not sure he has a future here? Tari? I can maybe probably be talked into letting go? Jabari/Tari are both extension eligible. Fred and a salary or Jalen, Jock and another salary or two. (Possibly to third team, Nets/Pistons only teams with cap space) Durant: $54,708,609 Fred: $44,886,930 (TO) Sengun: $33,944,954 Jalen: $33,333,333 Brooks: $21,124,110 Jabari: $12,350,392 Reed: $10,603,560 Amen: $9,690,600 Jock: $8,000,000 Tari: $5,675,766 Holiday: $4,901,400 (TO) Cam: $3,539,760 Nate Will: $2,270,735 Who did you trade for KD?
Stone can’t make player trades so I don’t believe this. Harden trade was for picks Eric Gordon for a pick Nets picks for Suns picks Whatever he did at the deadline was for picks Dude is too scared to pull the trigger on known commodities. He makes trades with the intention to buy time for himself.
His window and our window do not align. Not sure I’d even give Green and filler…and definitely no picks
The biggest hurdle when trading with the Suns is that they are so far above the cap, basically no simple trades would work.
Im just not sure Durant is even worth #10 considerring all the salary you have to commit and send out to make this happen. I think my max offer is fred, jock, #10 for durant And I only come to that conclusion if i am the front office if i cant come to a 2 or 3 yr cost effective contract with fred. At that point exercising the option and using him to upgrade the roster makes sense to me. But #10 carries a lot of potential value and a lot of contractual value. Something Durant really doesnt anymore. Hes a plug and play starter/stretch 4 who can get you tough buckets in the playoffs. Which to be fair is desperately needed, but he doesnt make us contenders unless our young roster takes another big leap. The real reason I like durant is as the next iteration of the "vet presence" to teach the young guys. Fred and Brooks taught them to be pros and competetive. Could Durant teach these guys how to be stars and get their own shots? If we did fred, jock and #10 for durant, my second move would be to try and sign cp3 to a 1yr deal. then retain adams. durant teach them how to shoot and create, while cp3 teaches them how to facilitate and control the offense. Amen/cp3/holiday Jalen/Reed/nate Brooks/Tari/cam Durant/Bari Sengun/Adams Now this all sounds good in theory and thought, but then ime is gonna play durant and cp3 40+ minutes in some random december game against charlotte while reed and co. look on...
I made this post a while ago for a trade that financially works and I think makes sense for all teams:
Having trouble of thinking who the team is that makes sense, but could we find a deal where we are just in to facilitate picks? Send Phoenix the #10 and the 2027 pick (preferably we keep 2029) and have them acquire a center from a third team, we get 3 firsts (or 2 1sts and a swap if its valuable) from another team, third team gets KD?
FVV and Jock works. And Jock has a history of playing well for them. They would then need to send someone like Cody Martin + picks to the Nets to actually get them under the apron.
