Just don't agree on this, especially the defense, all of these things are things only this fanbase says and particularly this forum, and mostly Sam tbh. It's not the same for Jalen btw, most other fans trash Jalen and say he's a bust, meanwhile most other fans are trying to imagine Jabari coming to their team. I rarely see anyone watch a rocket game, go to a general NBA forum and go "Boy, that Jabari Smith sure does suck, what a bust." Now I've seen that plenty for Jalen, but rarely ever Jabari. I actually see the opposite from other fans. The Warriors, Dray and Kerr, even talked about how well Jabari played during their series. I think fans don't appreciate the work he does on rotations and playing team defense. I don't agree with the dribbling thing, only because he barely even attacks for it to be a problem and part of having young players is letting them fail so that they can learn.

Hell, lets go back to when Jabari was hurt this year and how many people were moaning and groaning how we needed him back for his defense and rebounding and now all of a sudden we're talking like he's Boban on the perimeter. We can bring up those threads about Jabari being hurt and se how so many of us were saying we needed Jabari back. We can go back to the Warrior series when most of this board was mad that he wasn't getting more shots and minutes. When Jabari went out, you can pull up those old threads from earlier this year, see people talk about how our defense fell off, how our point differential was worse, etc etc

Saying Jabari is a bad defender to me is not objectively true. I do not think a guy that plays for you 30 mpg is a bad defender on what was a top 5, at times, best defensive team.

I’ll be really disappointed if we miss out of on KD. Not because of it being necessarily KD but missing out on his skillset. When we eventually lose in the playoffs because we can’t score in the halfcourt, it’s going to be because we were too cautious. Well then have the same approach in the offseason and rinse and repeat. This board has talked themselves into believing that we don’t need Fox and Durant. It’s going to be the same thing with the next guy available. And then we’ll realize we squandered our chances because our picks will turn into players after all that waiting and become undeveloped.

Remember when the Jalen cult used to call people haters for watching him play, and stating facts about how he is going to tank his value when he's exposed in the playoffs.

Would you look at that, other teams have taken notice about how he just isn't very good on the basketball court.

Yet this organisation thought it was warranted to give him an extension LMFAO.

It’s funny how desperate some of you guys are to **** on Jalen that you will literally quote a guy with 1k followers and obvious troll for validation. Btw, I don’t actually dispute the sentiment, it may be real, it may be not but like can you guys actually get real sources?

That guy is a nobody. He's got a little over 1k followers. Might as well use me as the source.

I wouldn't want Green either but I doubt he's the hold up. Assets outside of him are

I never said Jabari was a bad defender, just not elite, which was a huge part of his perceived value to me.

I also don't give a care what other (mostly ignorant) fanbases say about a player I watch each and every game. Context matters.
I also don't care how members of CF incomprehensibly yo yo back and forth about [name your subject/player/coach].

Some of the stuff said to defend Jabari is nuts; complete desperation.
Some of the extreme criticism of Jabari is over the top. Please don't lump me in with those folks.

One suggestion: Don't mention KD, Dirk, Giannis other superstars when discussing Jabari. He doesn't have anything close to the combination of skill, athleticism or mental fortitude any of those guys had early in their career. Let's keep the discussion sensible.

Jabari is going into his 4th year. Just like I said with Jalen at the beginning of last season: No more excuses. He must show notable improvement.

I been going back and forth in my mind about Durant but I ultimately think we should and will go get him. His scoring is too valuable for a team like us that struggles in that area. We can easily come up with a reasonable package to get him in my opinion. I also think he will attract other good role players, veterans, or guys that fit our timeline to want to join that would help balance the roster, though i’m not sure who those players may be. It’s time to cash in on these trades assets and stop hoarding picks and players that don’t play or perform for this team.

Then we move on. I see no resolve to giving anything meaningful to Phoenix when we know they are going to be bad for the foreseeable future and we own their picks.

His follower count and his insider status has zero to do with influencing my post.

It was clear as day to anyone who watched games (how they put the ball in Jalen's hands trying to play make -> then would always... ALWAYS take it out of his hands in the dying moments because he was an absolute turnover machine the moment a defense exerted pressure - the very thing that would happen repeatedly in a playoff series) that him being in the playoffs would do nothing but absolutely destroy his value.

It was, and still is hilarious that people legitimately call for him to be a ball handler to initiate the offense.

I fear there won't be any GMs as stupid as the Jalen cult.

    Jalen isn't a star. And it's arguable that he's even a starter.

He literally makes all of his teammates worse.

Why are you shocked he isn't getting draft picks thrown at the Rockets for him?

People really overdosed on coolaid instead of watching how bad he was on the court.

But.... Phoenix were open about wanting Booker to play more a PG role.

Yikes. There goes that excuse for Jalen.

If we want KD we will have to either trade FVV along with #10 and 27FRP or Dillion Brooks, Jabari and #10….. it’s obvious PHX don’t want JG… we have to move on.

Phoenix is operating out of desperation, that’s why there’s no reason for teams to up their offer especially because of Durant’s age and injury history. So from now until the draft they will continue to use the media to throw out s*** against the wall hoping something sticks.
