Honestly would be the least surprising thing. Plan B is “run it back”. Udoka extended ✓ Re-sign Fred SOON Re-sign Steve ✓ 10th pick SOON “Rumor” “Report” they “could” “might” “may be” interested in Corey Kispert.
man, I'm just sad Jalen Green's ass is still on this team. He needs to go and we need to get some frontcourt shooting
I'd do this in a heartbeat. But I feel like Brooklyn would want a lot more than this. Honestly, I'd be willing to take out the 19th pick and throw in another piece like Cam Whitmore instead.
Also, more on the topic of this thread. I still think Jalen and #10 is too much, if we do it, fine... But we sitting here and look at who we've drafted past #10... Sengun, Tari, Cam...Stone has had some good picks middle first round, enough for me to not just want to give it away. I like some of the prospects in that range too, I know they are not coming in and doing what KD is doing for sure but I'd rather keep that pick than Jalen at this point.
Trust me when I say that Siegel is not even remotely a source. It's supposition based on actual reporting elsewhere.
Jokic is terrible on defense, Giannis can't shoot, Shaq couldn't hit a FT to save his life, you can go down the list. These are all time greats who do have really good strengths otherwise and franchise players for their teams lol; each winning a championship for their franchise. Jabari won't be that guy
Surely y'all realize at least part of Phoenix not wanting Jalen is because they have Booker and Beal?
The beauty is that the Rockets don't need old man KD, so if he goes somewhere else, who cares? I'd prefer we not get KD and instead go get Cam Johnson
Who gives a ****, he plays against 2nd string players most times, Jabari is also a 7 footer with a better shot. Tari is expendable because we have Amen.... DD
Rockets will now be behind the Thunder, Nuggets, Warriors, and Spurs…Lakers too if they get an actual big man
Funny feeling FVV name is about to come up in the trade conversation for KD..... I haven't seen one report regarding Houston not willing to include FVV or Brooks. It's simple PHX don't want JG at all. Stone isnt willing to offer JSJ, Tari, Reed, Amen, Alpi.... Well, who's next? Who else can we use to make the money work? FVV, Jock, #10 (maybe 2027 FRP) could get this done.We could use Jalen as trade bait to get another PG.
Jalen (2nd pick, 4yrs experience) Jabari (3rd pick, 3yrs experience) Ware (15th pick, 1yr experience) Dillingham (8th pick, 1yr experience) Castle (4th pick of a bad draft, 1yr experience) 1. Ware is super raw despite the positive press. 2. 6'3" Dillingham didn't see much playing time because of a win-now Wolves team. 3. The closest is Castle, but still only 1yr and I doubt Spurs is offerring him. Aggregators act like the young centerpiece of the other teams is the same as Rocket's. If PHX's goal is to be competitive for Booker, the Rocket's young guys are far more polished and can contribute immediately, despite whatever cons they may have right now. Them other dudes are rookies. I'd even take Bari off the table, if Dillon is being offered for salary.
Not my point at all. My point is EVERY player has weaknesses, even all time greats lol, so keep going on about "Bari can't dribble, bari can't dribble, bari can't dribble..." Yes, EVERY player has weaknesses, that doesn't stop them from dominating, winning championships, and becoming hall of fame players if they have the drive to do so. Also, "Jabari won't be that guy" sure, likely not, because those guys are rare...but guess what, you didn't think Jokic or Giannis would be those guys either. No one had those guys doing that. Not a single damn person in here was saying either of those guys would be all time greats at that point in their careers. People though Giannis was just a good role player until he exploded and Jokic was just a really nice offensive player. Part of players growth is failure, reaction to that failure, working out, and just figuring out what they can do in the league. Too many of yall want Lebron and instant success, when that's simply not the norm at all.
It is absolutely a requirement in the NBA in the year 2025 to be able to dribble the basketball to dominate games. The days of a stand-around catch & shoot guy who can't really do anything else making the all-star team are long, long gone. Look at the all star or all nba teams - other than weirdo exceptions like Rudy Gobert - pretty much everybody who is even considered now is somebody who can create from outside in to some degree. A stretch 4 role player who can't really guard down? Meh. Not an all star, and not that useful.
I'd be happy to trade Jalen for Durant and try to win short term with Durant with worst case scenario being freed of being tied to Jalen's development, but I'm not crying if they don't get Durant either.
I'm not so sure about that. Remember that KD hasn't exactly elevated teams to contending status in recent years. The Spurs won 34 games last year, lost the greatest coach in NBA history and don't have nearly the depth that Houston has. The Rockets also almost (and arguably should have) beat the Warriors in the young core's first-ever playoff series. We should be better next season even if we don't add a single piece. Like I wouldn't bank on the Rockets being the 2 seed again. Gun to my head, I don't think they finish that high barring a different star trade. But I also don't think the rest of the West is clearly better, with the exception of the Thunder and maybe Denver.
