If this is the actual offer, you take it. Best pick, starting C and Barrett is whatever but he’s serviceable.
Yeah, Sengun is essentially untouchable....and he's certainly not a player that a second team would turn their nose up and want to dump on a 3rd team....and that's the kind of player we're talking about. I suggested his trade value would likely be a late first or early second round pick. You dodge the question because I think you know that your answer would be too embarrassing to admit. The reason we're discussing Jalen in a KD trade thread is because the Rockets wanted to trade Jalen as part of a package to get KD....and the Suns said that they have no interest in Jalen at all and that if he's in the deal they'll have to find a 3rd team to dump him on. That's why it's relevant.
Playing around with the fanspo trade calculator, using Brooks as the salary centerpiece in the trade makes things complicated. It'd have to be something like Brooks, Sheppard, Landale, and Holiday - AND we'd have to decline or renegotiate FVV's contract to avoid the second apron. I also think the Suns will demand a couple of their picks of that's the player package.
There’s Fred & filler. There’s Jalen & filler. There is no “Dillon Brooks & filler”. According to Iko, no Amen, Sengun, Adams, Jalen, Tari, Bari. Dillon+Jock+Holiday+Cam+Nate=40.7M Add Reed=51.3
If that is so, then the math says he got worse at either 2s or free throws. His biggest improvement is on defense. He's not an effective offensive player for a player with the most or second most attempts on a team. Durant would get his shot attempts, probably more when healthy. Leaves him Dillon Brooks attempts... what is he reasonably doing with that?
I wouldn't do Jabari for Durant straight up. The Toronto offer there is better than I would do if I'm Houston.
One young guy for Durant is okay. Two? No. Anyway, I hope this will be over with soon, one way of another. Tired of all these rumors.
Uh, math. I can count you know. Jalen - 33.3 Landale - 8 Holiday - 4.9 Whitmore - 3.5 That's 49.73 Durant is 54.7 They are short... The alternative is they trade someone Ime doesn't want to or a player better than Tari. You lose both cases. You prefer to lose 40% of the starting lineup? Doesn't sound consistent with the Rockets not wanting to blow things up.
we have the ability to SnT Tate or Uncle Jeff (only 1st year guaranteed) to meet salary requirements. Would have to compensate the third team that takes them on, but it is possible
If Jalen was what you think he is, then FVV would be getting help from him. You say this, but Jalen's role with Durant is redundant. FVV isn't being replaced by Durant.... They wouldn't be considering Durant if Jalen did his job.
Like i said several times before - KD coming means DB is odd man out of you keeping Amen and Tari because Amen might not develop into a PG - KD not going to want to play PF … and DB can’t play SG and if you have KD and DB then Tari is wasting on bench with Cam unless you try and play Tari at PF with Bari …
False if FVV was what you thought he was then our offense in halfcourt wouldn’t be horrible he’s slow pace, he’s no threat in the paint, he’s a worse catch and shoot 3pt shooter than JG and DB… he can’t finish at the rim … all he good for is playing slow pace and that limits turnovers …
I'm not a fvv fan. Ime is. If Ime says he's the guy then so be it. I'd start Amen and fvv as backup. I've seen too many bad decisions by Jalen with the ball that had nothing to do with FVV.
Or on draft day.... you send #10 = ~ $6M Jalen = 33.3 Landale = 8 Holiday = 4.9 Whitmore = 3.5 #10 = 6 Nate = 2.2 59.6 Subtract as needed
