Curry is being paid for what he provides defensively? Curry better than KD defensively based on what? I hope it’s not DBPM. What do u think Steph Curry would’ve done on defense down in PHX? C’mon bro be fr. Draymond is 9x All-Defense and finished 3rd in DPOY this year. Jimmy Butler has always been a better defender than KD, he started his career as a defensive specialist. Warriors jumped from 10th to 1st defensively after adding him. GS has never had a bad defense pretty much since 2012 aside from when they tanked, and it ain’t because of anything Curry’s been doing.

KD earns his money because of what he provides offensively. Idk why you’re acting like KD is some defensive sieve anyways. Jalen has a -DBPM, I didn’t see him getting cooked night in and night out. Did u?

If you’re relying on 37 y/o KD to fix a 28th ranked defense, it’s not gonna happen. The Rockets are a top 5 defense, and that’s with negative DBPM Jalen Green. Is it your belief that KD would make our defense worse? That teams will target KD like he’s a mismatch that can’t defend?

the Suns weren’t a play-in team because they went 3-17 in the games without KD…aside from that, they played as a 44 win team when he was in the lineup

KD has averaged about 37 mpg the past 2 seasons and played 75 and 62 games…aside from FVV’s 35 mpg and Amen’s 36 mpg as a starter, no one else averaged more than 33 mpg for the Rockets…lower KD’s minutes down to that 33 mpg range and let’s see how many games he plays…but the overall point is that the reason KD didn’t make All-NBA isn’t because he’s not a top 15 player because there are several players on those All-NBA teams that are for sure not better than him…he played more games the previous season and made All-NBA 2nd team for a reason

the Suns are a sloppy built team with a mismatched Big 3 that can’t defend…the Rockets are an elite defensive team that has trouble shooting and scoring…KD provides what we lack, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has an outsized impact here because of that

Jalen Green is already not worth the value of his contract, he gave us 13 ppg in the playoffs and was overall mediocre in the regular season…someone like Cam Whitmore isn’t even in the rotation

PHX can say what they want, and I’m sure every single team would put out that they want a real return. We’ll see what the reality is for them tho

Jimmy Butler was traded for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and a top 10 protected pick

Yeah, if we give them 5 more years, we too can turn into the Thunder. /s

Again, I’d prefer to keep Jabari but he lost his starting spot, and when Amen went out, Tari started and in the playoffs, saw his minutes decrease. (25-23-25-22-15-18-12)

I prefer to trade FVV, Cam, Brooks, 25 FRP/26FRP...we'll run this lineup next season:
    Sengun
    Jabari
    KD
    Jalen Green
    Amen
Also, we'll hold on to those Suns 27 & 29 picks...we're trying to compete to win next 2 years so screw those 25/26 draft picks.

Seems to me like there’s rift between Suns ownership (ishba) and management.

Ishba wants to extend booker and compete for the playin possibly a playoff spot, which is why Minnesota is beign heavily considered with no draft capital, a combination of Gobert, Dd can provide that

Management clearly wants to go younger and rebuild, Houston and Sa can provide that.

If he gets traded to the Spurs it’s because they included Castle and Houston stood firm on their offer. I can’t say I’d be mad at Stone if this happens.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d rather keep Jalen and Tari over Bari.

Brooks, Bari, Landale and Cam/Holiday (prefer Holiday) and a pick (not #10) is my opinion of a trade.

He has great offense, but combined with his declining defense, age and injury history isn't worth it for 60 Million for three years.

Wiggins has made an all star team and is 29 years old compared to Jalen, who I'm also low on right now, so not sure why you keep bringing him up. If you want to pay 60 million to a 37 year old Durant for 44 win impact we can agree to disagree.

It's about the value we'll be paying him, not who's a better player. He's not worth it and it's not Durant or nothing there will be other options in coming years, why be shortsighted on just next season?

Do you really think Phoenix is really taking Jalen straight up? What credible reports have mentioned that? I could be wrong but very doubtful, it's not a 2K swap with a one to one exchange. They have other teams likely offering much better than that, they have been reporting wanting real value.

I agree we'll see what happens.

Ime knows offense is a big problem.

Only superstars like Durant can solve the poor offense.

Age is relevant but when you can't put the ball in the basket it gets harder to play elite defense.

Durant does not solve the Offense, he probably closes out a few games and scores but if OKC or Nesmith plays him hard, he is not going to do tough shet either.

He mostly has been a jump shooter.

There is a reason why he only won with GSW.......GSW won chips without him.

The threat of his presence makes it easier for his teammates to impact offensively though.

durant does not solve the offense?

a 7 foot wing that shot over 52% and 43% from 3 while averaging 27 a game isn't going to solve the offense? I mean, sure he might not SOLVE the offense but he's going to make it A LOT better. Our best perimeter player was Jalen Green. Enough said. If we had Durant this playoff run, we'd be in the conference finals at the minimum.

NBA execs familiar with the situation say the Heat, Spurs, and Rockets have privately assured Durant’s long time agent, Rich Kleiman, that they’re willing to pay him the full 2-year, ~$120M extension he’s eligible for. They also believe Kleiman has masterfully positioned him to land in one of his preferred teams on his terms and that “it will be very difficult and messy for other teams to take on Durant from this point forward."

Nope, I don't mean that he doesn't score but his scoring is more like a plus and not someone like Joker that can make his teammates score more.

That kind of Solving the Offense....he doesn't pass on his Scoring gifts to others.

You are right that he is like a sniper on his own but more in that mercenary style.

It wouldn't if I was coaching.

Ime is... who is he benching? They go small and bench Jabari? Durant comes off the bench?

I have to ask, why would you care if he's playing the same minutes?

How does it matter so much when his 35 minutes come?

Wiggins made 1 All-Star game 3 years ago, he’s not an actual All-Star caliber player nor was he billed as one when the Jimmy trade went down

Andrew Wiggins isn’t even a top 40 player, Kyle Anderson is a 16 mpg role player averaging 6 points, and a top 10 protected pick…that was Jimmy’s price

I’m bringing Jalen up because he’s 1 of the main ones being discussed in a KD trade, it’s certainly not Amen or Sengun who u brought up earlier that would be in any possible Durant trade

a team that won 36 games played at a 44 win pace with KD

a team that played at a 44 win pace with KD, went 3-17 in the games without him

So then what do u think it will take to get KD since PHX wants real value?
