I suggest that you and the others from your clan should first actually go out and look at film on both Nelson & Gaines before you engage in feeble attempts at sarcasm. Now try to keep up with me here. Here's a free hint on how it's done: It's called DIRECTV! Directv has this wonderful package called The NBA League Pass that allows a person (me) to ACTUALLY watch games from other teams (Orlando, Houston, San Antonio, etc.) outside of their home market. Using this wonderous (for you) instrument, I was able to see BOTH Nelson & Gaines play for the Magic. Nelson is going to be something special in the league and that's why Orlando kept him. Gaines was left unprotected in the expansion draft and tossed in on the T-Mac trade for a definite reason and after seeing what Gaines did on the court, I understand why this was done. Now this is not to say that he can step on the floor at the TC and suddenly become the second coming of Oscar Robertson but the chances of that happening are very remote. At best, this is a guy who will need to learn HOW to play the point in the NBA which means that unfortunately he will not be of much help come the fall. Maybe T-Mac can play BOTH guard positions at the same time - that must be what CD has in mind...
This was a pretty condescending post to have some blatant errors. Nelson was the 20th overall pick in what is pretty much unanimously considered a very weak draft. The Magic didn't "keep him". They acquired him in a trade. Nelson hasn't played a lick in the NBA. You have not seen him play for the Magic, unless you're judging his summer league games. Why Orlando kept him? You mean as opposed to throwing him into the Rockets deal? Right. Further, the college/HS/Int'l draft was AFTER the expansion draft. One had nothing to do with the other. Nelson was an impressive college player, but so was Reece Gaines. I highly doubt you saw much of Reece Gaines on the court because he played less than 370 minutes this year. Did you see any of him at Louisville?
