Okay, too many for me to respond to each one, but there's a lot of good ideas there, and quite a few that we're already working on. Which is great. One I can definitely talk about is Yao Growth Chart Night, which we have tentatively pencilled in for opening night. A lot still depends on what nights will work best for our sponsors, lead times on the items, etc. Members of our Creativity team took Jeff through a lot of the ideas earlier today, but he's been sworn to secrecy on most of them. If somebody doesn't beat me to it (feel free to do so ... this is the fans' board, after all), I'll start a topic for noise and promotion ideas tomorrow. If anybody wants to suggest a time and a place to get together for further discussion live, fire away with that, too. Tim
Tim, Not that I have any ideas just now, but I hope the marketing department doesn't overlook Steve while making Yao out to be All That. I love the fact we're getting Yao Ming but Steve is the Franchise; are ya'll gonna market Steve too? I don't want any sibling rivalry here.
Don't worry, Steve and Cuttino, and to some extent Rudy and Moochie and Eddie and Calvin and maybe a few others will get their pieces, too. We've gone into this all along with a plan of marketing the whole team, not just Yao. Tim
Kenneally's, where Boylen, Rudy and Barkley go to to get away. As far as buying the "first round" as you offered, I like to think some of us here are "VPs of Marketing" the tip jar, and I'd vote for you to save money and donate it to preserving all the feedback of this "Fan Site", instead. I can say that jqh1 and I run the BBS hardware here, ....ummmm....we are in fear of this season...trust me. pins-and-needles fear. This doesn't even count Clutch's frontpage server, which really is the main attraction to cc.net. I'm down for anywhere to meet, though, to have the opportunity to meet the people deliver the added services and entertainment for us. I'm kinda naive when it comes to game time ideas, though, like trampoline's, life music, and mascots and such. I tend to believe that catering tix availability and pricing to the highest attendance fans is all that matters, and the rest (a loud arena for Steve and Cat) will take care of itself.
