Shaw is only on the Lakers because he is Shaq's best friend...he's a package deal...like David Wingate was with Ewing
I was referring to the fact that our shooting guard who doesn't pass the ball gets those kind of assists numbers. Those assist numbers are pathetic for a PG that plays over 20 minutes a game.
Lol! I don't know why Bobby Jackson is so great. He looks pretty decent playing alongside all the bigshots in Sacramento. How would he look if he ran the Twolves (a middle-of-the road team last year)? I'd rank those I listed ahead of Moochie like this: Van Exel Kenny Anderson Chris Childs Bobby Jackson/Moochie Norris
The whole point was that Jackson and Daniels have pathetic assist numbers. Also, Mobley played 30 min a game in his second season averaged 2.6 assist a game and he didn't pass the ball back then either.
You keep trying to validate your point by saying "and Mobley doesnt even pass the ball"... JAckson averaged a little over 2 assists per game last year in 21 minutes...and he doesnt even pass the ball... your turn
rockbox is determined to say Mobley doesn't pass at all so I don't know what to say there. I mean he brought up Mobley in a thread about back-up PGs just to say he doesn't pass the ball. As far as the back-up PG spot I think Tito will get a lot of minutes at the 2-guard spot, and I think that Rudy will run an all PG backcourt combo at times with Tito, Steve and Moochie.
In your post you said Bobby Jackson was a better PG than Moochie. Don't you think a PG that averages 1 assist every ten minutes is pretty pathetic? I was using Mobley for comparison because he is a SG (main responsibility is not passing) who many on this board considers a ball hog ( I love Cat and I don't care if he passes the ball as long as he can shoot at a decent clip). Maybe it was not a good example but I thought most would get my point. Bottom line, I think Bobby Jackson and Antonio Daniels are not good PG's because their assist numbers are terrible. Sorry if the Mobley confused you.
leave antonio daniels out of the assist comparisons, please. AD is a reserve combo guard - meaning that he plays the 1 and the 2. regardless of the situtation, rest assured that he is/has been brought in moreso for scoring than for passing. that said, he is a better backup 1 than moochie. antonio may not be the most gifted point guard in the L, but he has great size, a serviceable shot, good defense, and doesn't dribble the laces off the ball.
I agree with rockbox. The Antonio Daniels experiment failed, ask any Spurs fan. He's a shooter, not a distributor. B-Jackson and Moochie are fairly similar despite numbers. I'd probably call that matchup a push.
I may let the Bobby Jackon one slide. I'd say Lindsey Hunter vs. The Mooch is a tough call. But hey, I love The Mooch as much as the next guy, but there's no way in hell I'd take Mooch over Jeff McInnis. McInnis started pretty much all last season. Remember how poorly we did when Mooch was our starting PG?
He gets so many opportunities to shoot with 1 sec. left on the clock (shot clock) that he better be clutch.
Bobby Jackson is a better scorer than Moochie and also is a better passer as well. McInnis is superior to Moochie. Daniels is a combo guard-Moochie is a better point man than him even though Daniels has more skills than him.Hunter is also a combo guard I think Moochie is marginally better than him as a point guard. Van Exel is good enough to be a starter,Kenny Anderson had a better year than Moochie.Childs is better than Moochie too. Brian Shaw looks effective in the triangle offense, but he and Moochie are about equal in talent. Moochie is better than the rest of the guys except for Avery Johnson but he is getting old.
