If Kerr was racist, he probably would've played the 'Yao's injury is actually made the team better' angle. He does give props to Yao by saying "After all, over the past two seasons, their record without Yao has been horrendous" and such, and his high ranking is mainly due to respect for the Rockets playing so well even with Yao out.

I've noticed a lot of sport columnists and pundits that had prejudiced and preconceived notions of how Yao Ming would perform in the NBA solely because of his ethnicity, but they were quick to apologize after Yao Ming proved them wrong. I think only Charles Barkley, maybe out of his bitterness with the Rockets org. still doesn't give Yao enough cred for what he's done.

The reason he did this is two-fold...

    1) He has to give the Rockets some love or he'll be exposed as a blatant hater more so than ever before.

    2) He knows they'll probably lose to the Mavs and Suns, which means next week he can drop them right back down and make a comment like "Try as they might to place themselves amongst the West's elite, the previously red-hot Rockets received a rude awakening. They were thumped in consecutive nights by both the Mavs and Suns."

Kerr doesn't wanna be one of the losers not talking about the Red Hot Rockets! but he'll be waiting for Rockets to do something wrong so he could start bashing on them again. Loser!!

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but didn't Kerr write a positive article on the Rockets earlier this season?? I think someone made a thread about that...

I still don't like Kerr as an analyst. 2 decent articles going our way does not erase a couple of seasons of hating..

He is surprised at the performance of the team without Yao but he said Chris Kaman the second best center after Shaq. He does not like the Rockets.

steve kerr being rasict is the most ridiculous comment i ever heard. stop being so delusional.

im not buying us yet. yeah we're a tough team but we arent better than dallas, phoenix, san antonio, and maybe not even the jazz and the lakers. jazz and the lakers are very young and i think we'd be too old to handle them in a 7 game series.

aren't we younger now though, with luther head emerging as a potent off the bench scorer, and chuck hayes getting his minutes, lucas as the semi quasi back up point? tmac and yao arent old either. deke and jho are the only old farts we have, and they're playing exceptionally well. hopefully it carries on to the playoffs

That's nuthin! Yesterday, I found not one, but TWO *Golden Pearls*, inside of five minutes, and sold both of them for 20 gold each! ;)

There was definitely something in the air yesterday.

If Rockets win against Mavs and Suns and Spurs again. Would would they say about the rockets? The second coming of the Laker dynasty? :D
