Man, do I want to believe this. That in some floor-spacing, space-bending calculus only a machine can perform, Ryan Anderson, just by standing out there, is creating $20M worth of buckets for his teammates.

 

Compared to Carmelo Anthony, I'm sure it is a space bending difference.

luckyman76 is correct on all accounts - They don't want to get rid of salary to create cap space - Andersons contract allows them to bring in 125% of his $20m next offseason that's $25.m which can be aggregated (added) with other salary to bring in a greater amount (Up To 125%+100k of the total).


They wont renounce anyone in that Opt in / trade scenario .... and they'll have the MLE to sin Luc with.


Its all a matter of order of operation for them Trade happens first then all their Bird FA's are resigned then the MLE is used.

Even when Ryno doesn't make his shots he still doesn't negatively effect the flow of the Rockets game. Man still knows where to position himself for optimal team performance. You bring in somebody else and they might disrupt this flow altogether and be detrimental to the team one way or another. Rockets are going all in for the title and should just keep Anderson for the season.

Ryno has the worst on vs off net rating amonst our forwards. We have goat offense primarily because we have 48 minutes of elite playmaker on the floor

There's a reason why he's a starter on this Roster it's because he still knows how to play within the Rockets system scoring or whatnot better than just about any stretch 4 in the whole entire basketball world.

I was just thinking, Warriors GM must be ******** himself till the deadline. If Morey manages to get a legit rotation PG, things change. If he then manages to shore up the C position (a luxury at that point) then we are ready to roll. I think he will do it. Morey know that sometimes even the exact same team won't repeat a performance two years in a row (see: Dwight-Rockets). He's going to make a move imo.

You realize they don't need Ariza's 12 million cap hold to re-sign him, right? How much money do you think he'll command at 33 years old?

 

You do realize that they DO need his Bird Rights to exceed the cap to resign him.

Renounce the cap hold renounce the bird rights.

Now once you've reached the cap what do you have to replace him with ? Nothing but vet min.

There kinda is.

There was a stat in the sports vu system called "gravity", which basically tracked how close defenders guarded opponents, how far to the basket they went to cover them, and how that opened space up on the court for the rest of the team. Pretty sure everyone in the Rockets staff have developed an immensely superior way of tracking and using it now, and I'm sure that's one of the things that leads to an analysis that makes Ryno a better fit for overall scheme than Melo.
