If you can send him to his hometown for Zach and Koufos, that to me would be a steal. I would send 1st round pick there. Zack would be steal for houston.

if we don't win a chip its because ryno and his contract didn't bring enough to the table

not because players around ryno didn't bring enough to the table

Scott Padgett, Dan Langhi, Jon Barry, Scott Brooks, Ryan Bowen and Chase Budinger convened on the White Boy Super Squad, and they deemed Ryan Anderson NOT wortby!

This. Talk to any of the RoF though and its anybody's fault except Anderson. He helps the team with spacing just by being on the floor. Haven't you heard? He is the 2nd best spacer after Curry

I'm sure he is beating himself up on the one unfortunate, flexibility-hampering signing he's made in recent years; it's part of what drives him to be a great GM.

But like I said in another thread Ryan Anderson and his bad contract are #richpeopleproblems.

However much the Anderson contract might have harmed Morey's ability to improve the team, we have a pretty great team. We're two games behind GSW (only 1 in the loss column) for the best record in the league, we're #1 in point differential, we're #1 in ESPN and CBS power rankings (and whenever we're not we're usually #2), and we're the only team that anyone believes can challenge Golden State. I would guess he is beating himself up over that contract, even with all his accomplishments that got us into the best position we've been in since Olajuwon was winning trophies for Les Alexander to keep for himself.

To me Morey's almost as much of a lock for executive of the year as Harden is MVP. (Of course he isn't actually a lock and Harden is as close to being one as a player can be.) His last off-season was A+++ brilliant.

And if anybody can move Anderson's albatross of a contract, it's Morey. He's the hardest working, most creative GM in basketball.

Playing over Clint Capela? I doubt it.

Al cannot play PF anymore, he barely could back when he was spry.

    yeah cp3 & harden won't work

thats why capela & horford won't work

you have a chance for horford then you make it work.. that why morey swung for him but failed

but I was replying to some ROF/LOF who was saying we won 55 wins because of Ryno and Cp3 joined Houston because of Ryno

so why did Morey desperately tried and almost succeeded trading ryno for melo then? poor cp3 came here for ryno and morey did the switcharoo

    The opposite actually.

We need Anderson’s contract to match salaries in a opt in for Lebron.

The Rockets will be operating above the cap.

WHY IS IT SO GOD DAMN HARD TO UNDERSTAND?!

What do we have to do for the majority of clutchfans to get it thru your head.

Anderson most likly will not be traded. IF he is, he will be traded for 2 contracts will money owed on them thru the 2018-2019 season and beyond.

    MY GOD.

The ROCKETS WILL NOT BE SIGNING LEBRON THRU CAP SPACE. Period.

It sure as hell did. IIRC very few seemed to think Anderson's contract was a very bad one at the time he signed it.

Happily we're still the second best team in the NBA and getting better all the time so I can't be mad over one bad contract.

Did he though? Ryan Anderson said that Daryl told him that the reports were far overstated, leading me to believe that Daryl might not have been all that interested in Carmelo anyway. Maybe Daryl prefers Ryno, hell maybe D'Antoni prefers Ryno.

I think it is probable that Morey's computer has a far more sophisticated view of player impact, and that Ryno completely massacres Carmelo in that regard. The ESPN Hoes wanted the superstar deal to happen, desperately. Daryl Morey though? I'm not so sure about that.

LOL conspiracy theory.. Harden, Cp3, Nene, Ariza etc were all pawns Morey just tricked OKC into getting Melo.. Cp3 didn't even want Melo

If the Rockets were sputtering around as the 8th seed again like the previous year, CP3 is not coming here. Doesn’t matter if we had Harden, Rockets had to do something to shake things up.

Our team success had a lot to do with his decision. No one arguing Harden wasn’t one of the main reason CP3 came here, but winning was also a key factor and if we don’t have RYNO we aren’t even in the running. Just look at the previous year, Durant wouldn’t even sit down and have a meeting with us and him and Harden are close friends. It’s not all about Harden there are other factors.

The real what if would be if Durant had given us the light of day and came here. How good would CP3 Harden Durant be. We would crush every team in the league but he had to go to the effing warriors.

    Conspiracy, or Chess.

It is Daryl Morey we are talking about here right? Not David Khan?

I think Ainge will win executive of the year. Can’t be mad at that. Look at Kyrie and Tatum. Now look at IT and Fultz. Look where they are in the standings. Now look at what picks they have next year.
Morey definitely is deserving of one as well though.

Honestly I don’t think the contract is that bad. I mean he is an average to slightly above average starter in the NBA and has a skill that is rare in players his size... there are a lot worse contracts out there in my opinion.

Sure nobody wants to pay Ryan Anderson $20 mill but at the same time it’s not like he is garbage... hell for years Morey was dreaming about having Anderson and so was most of the board.
