I just wanted to point out that it would be stupid to ask people around the world why they support Houston, because the NBA only exists in the U.S. and Canada. So basically, when you're from around the world, you have every right to pick whichever team you want to support.

all right, allright, i'm a jackass.

Rockets_Truth,Kam has in the past trashed New York in a New York thread.
then you posed your question. i assume that you assumed i was a "rude new yorker" so peace out, no one jumps on anyone bandwagon, carry on.

oh, and i didn't say no one cares, i said no one asked, which they didn't, they were inquiring about watching the Rockets in New York. why participate at all if there is nothing to offer?

I'm super tempted to start a thread asking about places to watch Rockets games in Utah...

... but even I'm not that ironic.

    ;)

I am moving to New York this month from Austin and am totally down with catching Rockets games with fellow Rockets fans. It would be great way for me to meet new people as well. I am all for pitching in for League Pass. It is kind of pricy if we just did it by ourselves. I am an H-town native so those hating on us living in New York are being stupid. New York is a wonderful place to live and the experience you get there is unmatched in many different fields. I will definitely move back to Houston since it is home, but there is probably no place better to live when you are a young and without kids than New York.

Welcome to New York, persian hoopa. I also used to live in Austin (UT)----definitely miss both Austin and Houston. But I love New York.

Sane, Rockets_Truth-- no worries. I hear ya, and it sounds like this is a misunderstanding. No hurt feelings on my end. I'm just glad we avoided a long, nasty, drawn out "Houston vs. New York" thread. (knock on wood)

And to all my fellow New York-based Rocket fans----- let's make this happen! I don't know this is the forum to do it, but somehow we should get organized, muster e-mail addresses, etc., and find a convenient sports bar or a central location for league pass. I'd volunteer the league pass thing, but my building isn't wired for DirectTV.

Now I'm thinking more big picture: should there be a place on CC-net that can be devoted to Rockets fans who no longer live in Houston? Maybe it can have a listing of major cities and which board members live there. (if they choose to say). Or does such a forum already exist, and I'm just ignorant of it? This idea could get more and more interesting as the Rox get more global.
