jake, how much meat(weight wise) you put on your small & large philly steak sandwich? Are they the same quantity as before?
Jake's Philly Steaks and Rockets Games We've upgraded to a better beef; portions still the same on the Philly's; 3-4 oz. on small, 6-7 oz. on large and you can order extra meat if you like. Burgers are 1/2 lb. and upgraded to a brisket/chuck 50-50 blend. Chicken sandwich has a full chicken breast, upgraded to premium fresh and trimmed. Some patrons think our fried chicken sandwich is the best in town, plain or buffalo. The other day we made a custom Jake's Melt for a customer and he said it was the best burger he's ever had; instead of Texas Toast; our custom white hamburger bun, jalapeno ranch dressing, 1/2 lb. burger, medium rare, white American cheese, two strips of bacon, two onion rings, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeno ranch dressing, bun top! Jake's Philly Steaks and Rockets Games We closed the doors last night so we can keep the live music in the Patio Room while the game and sound was on in the Main Room. Some chose to sit in the Patio Room, listen to live music and just watch the game. Depends on the crowd Friday night. We have a blues band with a sax player that's touted as one of the best bands in Houston, if the crowd is overflowing, we'll have the doors open, no game sound but the game will be on. If we can fit everyone in the Patio Room for music, we'll do the same thing we did last night....game and sound in one room, live music in the other. Music starts at 8. Thanks, Jake's Management
came by for the Heats game and the bar was full so I sat down at a table.... I ordered a Karbach Hopadillo which was on special that night. Instead of receiving the $1.75 can special, I got a $5 draft pint which was okay with me, I don't really care for a few dollars. After the first quarter ended, the bartender came by and asked if I ordered a Philly and I simply said "no, but I would like one" he said okay and never checked on me again. I waited until half time and received no refill on my beer and nobody inquired if I was hungry.... I tabbed out at half time and drove to Niko Nikos for food.... I was disappointed in the service because I legitimately wanted to become a regular
Went tonight and had a great grilled chicken sandwich. Service was good too. You guys should get koozies though.

Why don't you'all tell us when the next big crowd is coming in for a game and we'll get some beer vendor to supply a special with some koozies. As soon as the name changes, we'll have that kind of stuff available....we're just holding off on promotional items until our new name and logo is completed. In the mean time, I'll see what we can come up with to have some available. Also, we're a walk-up counter service establishment, no table service yet. When it's busy, that's kind of a pain, but we try and have both counters open during busy times and we're trying to hire new people to fill in on short notice when we get packed. this was the first time I did not get a seat at the bar so I didn't know it was a walk-up counter establishment.... I have been here 4-5 times previously and bartender takes good care of me...
