I don't know about all that but I am going to watch Edey's future. I think the kid could be good. Rocket River
The entire premise of this is flawed. Edey is not going to shut down Wemby. He's not long enough. Nobody is, that's the whole ****ing point!
Pretty sure Brooks can do that too, thread still seems based on a false promise. Pretty sure Nate Williams can do that too, just undercut them big daddy long legs on a 3 ball and we're good to go...
……but he’s tall and thick enough. Watch when Memphis plays the Spurs and he shuts down Wembly. Guarantee you Wembly won’t dominate like he does in most games against us. Since we’re stuck with Reed, the coaching staff needs to focus on his biggest strength and that is awesome 3 point shooting. Not telling Ime how to coach, but just a thought that he may want to play Adams with Reed and set a pick like he does for Green.
You on point Brooks can and almost snapped Wemby's twig arm in half on that loose ball exchange where CP3 tried to instigate it further as usual Wemby whimpered/gas face if you go back and peep that loose ball scuffle His entire lower frame almost snapped into pieces from Green mixing him up making him fall, so add him to the list as well
Victor Wembanyama injury history before the Draft is Alarming. I just don't think he will have a 14 - 20 year Career
Ming was a tree trunk too, but thank goodness we had him when playing against Shaq as it gave us a legit chance to win.
And neither Shaq nor Yao would've been mobile enough to stop Wemby either. You're talking about completely different types of players. Edey's more of an old school center. Wemby's not at all, he's a 7'5 wing who moves like a small forward and rarely bangs inside. It's not just about how tall somebody is, Wemby's agility and length/wingspan is what makes the difference, not his height. Edey has actually no chance in hell.
Wemby takes himself out of games by playing on the perimeter. He doesn’t want the banging of the post but his impact is diminished if his bread and butter is a long three pointer. He will put up some stunning games along the way but won’t be someone you fear.
Victor Wembanyama stats against the rockets: 2 wins, 4 losses 17/13/3 on 45/23/80 splits, 53% TS (bad) Also averaging 4.0 blocks per game and 4.0 turnovers per game, +/- of -2.8
