Noticed this from FVV, Holliday, and Tari.

We're a team that desperately in need of a 2nd scorer and just more efficient scoring in general. Definitely think improving in transition and picking up the pace will be beneficial to us. Could also generate some easy shots for our more athletic players. Any help we can get.

I understand though the team is still building chemistry and constantly fine tuning things.

Amen was considered best transition player of the draft. That was on weak OTE League competition, but he had the highest transition FG% of the draft class. So Rockets have as good a young prospect as any for that 1 particular trait. Havent seen much of that, so its then if its scheme limiting him, or skill on NBA level not as advertised, or he just needs more time.

Cam is kinda like Tari, he goes for steals & deflections to get breakaway points. But he's as black hole on decisions as anyone. Its if his bully finishing will outweigh non passing (kinda like guard version KJ Martin, just flush it dont dish it). Will Ime "let them cook" their way? We'll see.

It's definitely subpar and we are as frustrating as the Steve Francis years, just a lot of potential that will stay untapped and likely stay this way under Ime.

Hitting Jabari on an alley-oop is no easy feat, tbh... :D

I agree with this. He comes from the school of Pop. Defense leads to offense and the other thing is that he also has some pretty unskilled younger talent that he is molding. I don't think it's not understanding offense so much yet as he wants defense always on their mind as #1 until it's ingrained in them like second nature then he can work on the other side of the ball. Even Cam told a reporter all he wants him focusing on is defense, defense, defense.

Green finishing a fast break = capable.

Green with the ball in his hand needing to make a split second decision as to what to do to combat the lone defender on the fast break = not capable.

I think he blew what seemed like a 4 on 1 the other day if memory serves.

I dont think height can be the excuse. Cp3 is one of the best lob throwers we've ever seen if not the best.

Yeah you can see it in interviews clearly. We're a top 10 defense but he's not satisfied with it.

At the same time, the offense is lagging and I think we can make the biggest in-season gains there. Overall the team needs to run more, settle for the mid range less often and execute the plays faster. The spacing could be a bit better too (positioning).

Van Vleet cant deliver a proper alley oop pass on most advantageous breaks. The philosophy to run set plays on every possession vs just running and working in some athleticism here and there is crazy when you look at the roster makeup. Took Boston half a season so there is still time right?

I like Fred, he's a massive improvement, but the lobs died when he came on. He just isn't very good at throwing them.
