I have gotten into a few HEATed discussions about who I am rooting for in the NBA Finals this year. I am a big LeBron fan, and have never really been a Spurs fan (although I did root for them against those evil Pistons back in the day). I have a few questions.... 1. Do we have an obligation as Texans to root for the Spurs? 2. Do we have an obligation as Rockets fans to root against the Spurs? (i.e. Mavs) 3. Does rooting for a specific player (LeBron) cause need to be ball busted/flamed? I for one am rooting for LeBron as he is my favorite current player in the NBA not named James Harden. I believe he is the most complete player I have ever seen play. However if the Heat did not have LeBron I would not root for them as much (If D Wade is gone I am rooting for the Spurs probably). Thoughts? Poll is public btw.
I don't see how we have any obligations either way. I dislike the Heat. I wanted the Pacers to win. I don't like the Spurs, but as long as I stay out of SA I don't dislike them. So I want the Spurs to win.
I'm definitely excited to watch the Finals, but I only root for the Rockets. It's nice not to be emotionally invested in a series. I could not care less who wins the series, at the end of the day, I dislike both teams.
My favorite teams 1.Houston Rockets. 2.Anyone playing the Lakers 3.Anyone playing the Heat 4.Anyone playing the Jazz Hell my 3rd favorite team is in the finals, i'm going for them.
Like Clutch said today in the podcast, the Spurs; that way when we win our chip against the Heat, every Texas team will have beaten them.
Should have left the 3rd option out. Those who pretend to not care because the rockets are out can just not vote, or at least not be in the nba dish reading finals threads. I want one of two extremes. First choice is a sweep by SA. If that's not going to happen, I want a long series, where everyone on the heat but lebron plays poorly, & he submits a dominating 3x2 nightly & carries them in historic fashion. When is actual tip off, our time?
Spurs, because: 1. Hate the Heat and their bandwagon fans 2. Spurs win, more likely Duncan & Pop retire, easier for us in the coming years 3. If Spurs win, it becomes fate that we beat the Heat in the finals
The Spurs because it's making fun of Lebron is more entertaining than hearing the media kissing his ass all the time.
as a huge rockets fan, i am grateful and respect t-mac for all the exciting moments he brought to our organization. it's only right that i continue to root for him. BLACK AND SILVER BABY.
Don't like Lebron, never have never will !!! Go S***s...... I can't in good conscience say their name!... Hey, I got it.....Go lose MIAMI HEAT!!!....That felt normal... ....... ....... .......
