Bay Area in California! Berkeley to be specific... Lived all buy last 6 years in Houston though! They fell apart without me
Grew up in Houston for 15 years. Rocket fanatic since 1986. Residing in Austin, TX - 3 1/2 years and counting.
born in salt lake city Utah in 1972 moved to Alief in 1983 graduated in 91 from Elsik Lived in Houston until 2001 now live in Albuquerque NM I have been a Rocket fan sence 1985
Whoa! A Rockets fan in UTAH. Strange. Real strange. note: I didn't even read most of the other posts. There could be 19 people from Utah.
Born and raised in Taiwan. Living in Houston in the last 20 years except a few years in Southern California. A rocket fan at the time of Alvin Haye's. Become a devoted fan since Ralph Sampson and Hakeems' arrival. Well, mostly Hakeem. Put off big time by Rocket of how he is ignored by the young Rockets (mostly Francis and Cutino). Getting back into it because of Yao. go Hakeem, go Yao.
Born in Hunan and now living in ShenZhen China. I am proud of Yao so much. Nice to meet you all and welcome to China. I am sure you will love the foods here.
I grew up in Houston, went to the U of H, and remember listening on the radio as the Cougs' whipped Lew and UCLA in the Dome. My girlfriend was ticked off! (by me listening to the game, lol) Loud cheers at the drive-in when they won. Became a fan when the Rockets moved to Houston, because Elvin Hayes was on the team (didn't last long!). Moved to Austin 20 odd years ago and followed the team from there. '81 made me more of a fan, '86 REALLY got me turned on to the team, and after all the lean years we started having success. The Championships were incredible. This site is FAN-tastic. Thanks Clutch!
Born just outside Toronto, Canada. Moved all over the place, as my mom was an artist...NY, Ottawa, various other places that need not be named. Lived in Fla. for a while with my Dad, who worked for a pro sports team. On my own I have lived mostly in Toronto, but modelling had me living at least part time in NY and L.A. each for about 3 years...sorry, L.A. guys, but I hate LA for more than just the Lakers...Am currently pursuing yet another in a likely to be endless degree of varying levels (Sad but true list includes Classics, Film, History, Lit, Philosophy, Drama and Peace & Conflict Studies)...and, yes, I do have commitment issues...Also teach PT at a private HS, bartend, and act. Have never even been to Houston, but I explained my love affair with the Rockets in a thread a few months back called Earliest Memories of a Rockets Fan, don't have a link...oh, I am JAG, for those of you who remember me. If I ever make it to H-TOwn, I would LOVE to get together with a bunch of you for a game and a beer. Peace, JAG
Wow! I must say that I am blown away by the number of Rockets fans that exist all around the world!! You guys are soooo smart! Being a native Houstonian, I must tell all of you that we are very sceptical of our team having any fans from outside of Texas. So, most natives of Houston will likely think that all of you don't really exist, but rather are just other native Houstonians trying to make it look like our team has fans from all over the world. But, I choose to believe! I can see how the "Heart of a Champion" won a lot of people over, all around the world! Those were a couple of very, very special years. Heck, we didn't even have a Rockets fan site until that team. And thanks to Clutch now we do, as do the rest of you that are obviously in company with each other, having to love the Rockets from afar! I feel for you all! I am excited to see some natives of China joining the ranks of Rockets fans and posting on this site! Welcome all of you from China and anywhere else in the world!
BTW Been a fan since a was very young watching Rudy, Malone, Calvin, Dunleavy, Mike Newlin, Robert Reid and many others starting back around '75 or '76. Used to watch the Finals on tape delay after the news at 10 on school nights, falling asleep on the couch...
Its called you go where the job takes ya........its really hard to be a Rox fan in Stockton/Malone country. But I can never desert my hometown Houston Teams (Rox, Astros, Oilers err Texans).
