All Rocket fans should be like Brandon. http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Fan_of_the_Week_Brandon-199538-34.html Who is the winner this week? Rockets.com visits with Brandon, a member of the Red Rowdies. Meet Brandon in this week's Fan of the Week: Name: Brandon Age: 21 Hometown: Houston Occupation: Real Estate Assistant School: University of Houston Major: Psychology Rockets.com: Why did you want to become a member of the Red Rowdies? Brandon: I've been a die hard Rockets fan all of my life, and I bleed red (in both a literal and a Rockets sense). When I was younger, I used to cry when the Rockets lost -- I kid you not. Rockets.com: How long have you been a Rockets fan? Brandon: I've been a Rockets fan since I was seven years old. Rockets.com: Did you have season tickets before winning them as a Red Rowdy? Brandon: No. I'm a college student who pays his own tuition. That's why I'm thankful to have this opportunity. Shout out goes to Jeff Van Gundy for making it happen!!! Rockets.com: What did you do during your audition to win season tickets? Brandon: I was just my normal self, which is CRAZY!!! I wore my old Hakeem Olajuwon jersey that barely fits me and the rest was all na-tu-ral!!! Rockets.com: What do you wear to Rockets games this season? Brandon: I wear either my Red Rowdies shirt or my extra-small Hakeem Olajuwon jersey. Rockets.com: What is your favorite Rockets memory? Brandon: Vernon Maxwell hitting his three-pointer in Game 7 of the 1994 NBA Finals against the Knicks. I can still hear Marv Albert's voice saying, "AND VERNON MAXWELL HITS FROM DOWNTOWN!!!" That was the shot heard around Houston because it really brought the city together. Rockets.com: What is the best Rockets game that you saw in person? Brandon: When we blew out the Mavs in the home opener. The Mavs are a bunch of title-less wimps! (print that) Rockets.com: Do you have a pregame routine? Brandon: The Red Rowdies usually go around the arena and get everyone hype. We also taunt the opposing teams’ fans for daring to wear their pathetic jerseys in our arena. There was one Bulls fan that had on a cheap jersey and me my friend Corey chanted "bootleg jersey" at him and almost made him cry. That's right, we make grown men cry! Rockets.com: What is your most prized Rockets possession? Brandon: Either my Hakeem Olajuwon jersey from the third grade or my collection of Houston Chronicle editions that have every major Rockets event from the past 12 years. Rockets.com: What is craziest thing you would like to see someone do to win Rockets season tickets? Brandon: I would love to see someone do an impersonation of Jeff Van Gundy. That would be classic!!!! Rockets.com: How far do you think the Rockets will go this season? Brandon: With the assistance of the Red Rowdies, the Houston Rockets truly have no limits. Yao is the best center in the NBA (yes, he's better than Shaq. Much better) and Tracy, Battier and Bonzi are all great on the perimeter. The Houston Rockets are your 2006/2007 NBA Champions!!! Now go tell somebody ... punks!!!! E-mail this story Copyright 2007 NBA Media Ventures, LLC. All rights reserved. No portion of NBA.com may be duplicated, redistributed or manipulated in any form. It would be great if this was the same Brandon who said Tmac is too soft for the Rockets and got in a fight with other rowdies and ended up quitting!
Lol Rowdie Brandon showing his true love. Someone started a similar thread like this a year ago. Maybe we should revive that.
thats hilarious, i wonder what that Brandon will say.... btw, tinman, u met him didnt you? He was with us in SA last year, btw did u make it to the Spurs game last month? Thought I saw you on the roster but didn't see u
You got me all twisted, man. While that is hilarious, it is mad racist at the same time. As a result, I am laughing my ass off then shaking my head in disapproval, then laughing my ass off again.
lol, tinman = Mr. Throwback. At first, I was surprised he made that thread that didn't relate to the glory days..........until i read the bold. Oh, and what does the date of the article have to do with that "hispanic?" thing? That one I do not get.
update - oh you mean last year? i think i did meet him i was at the game this year too, i showed up late cause of stupid san antonio traffic
who was the little asian kid at the toyota center who took off his yao jersey, then flexed and kissed his bicep?
i think the hispanic thing originated in an old thread, where someone replied 'Hispanic?' which made no sense, that's why its so funny.
