Rockets expect Yao, Artest back against Sixers

Finally, the gang’s all here.

Though it did not take a medical miracle, it might seem that way when Yao Ming, Ron Artest and Tracy McGrady actually play in the same game tonight.

Yao, who missed the Rockets’ past two games with a bruised knee, said he would play "for sure."

Artest, who told a website that he might have to sit out until after the Feb. 16 All-Star game, said Wednesday that he would play.

"I thought I was going to have to (sit out), because in the second half of that Knick game, my foot was really bothering me," Artest said. "I thought I would have to give it more time to rest. I woke up this morning and felt great. That’s a sign that the ankle has gotten better. The pain didn’t go on past a couple days. That’s a great, great sign."

With Yao and Artest back, the Rockets will have their planned starting lineup and rotation together for just the third time this season. McGrady, Yao and Artest have played in the same game 22 times. McGrady, Yao, Artest and Shane Battier all played in the same game only in the losses to the Cavaliers and Wizards

"I feel like it is the first game for our season, that we finally get everybody here," Yao said. "Starting today and through February, we have a lot of home games right here and also we have everybody that can play. I remember last February, that was very sweet.

"I feel pretty good today. I think Houston’s warm weather helped my knee recover. I’m playing tonight for sure."

Awesome I am super pumped to watch tonight's game. I just hope we play good D, it has been frustrating watching opponents shoot high fg% and score easy layups. NO LAYUPS!

It is either going to be exciting (like the Nets game) or a disaster (like so many other games in recent memory). I'm leaning disaster, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Yao is back, great time for a streak....before anybody else gets hurt, I really hope the rockets can put together a 48 minute streak of no injuries

i just hope that from this game on till the playoffs and beyond we have all our players playing at a high level and start getting on a roll and get ready for the playoffs... please god.

Just don't believe everything Ron said. He sometimes say stuff that he doesn't mean. It happened when he was with Kings.
