Even if they met the deadline, the NBA could keep it a secret. No doubt the Rockets wouldn't want to destroy any chances they had at marketing current uni's by announcing new one's in 2 years. By the way, it wouldn't be tough to get the league's help when it comes to keeping stuff quiet. Tim Frank, the Rockets former director of team communications (media relations), now has that job for the NBA.
Keep the old logo, just make new jerseys. Have them red with out the pinstripes. Have it say Rockets on the front with big numbers. Don't put the full logo on it, just the lettering. Why do people say the Rockets have the worse jersey ever in the league. Cleaveland had the worse jersey in the league by far. twas that skyblue one when they moved into Gund Arena. Those were ugly. The logo was ugly as well. Man am I glad Bob Kemp is gone. Does anybody know why he won the Jimie of the week back a while ago? He said something about it last night.
He said that it was the callers from Houston that voted him the Jimmy of the week. I'm not sure what he said to piss them off this time. os
I always thought it would be cool to have one of the old school NASA rockets going up the sides of the uniforms, like where the red strip is now. I don't know maybe that's a bad idea. Definitely NO pinstripes.
I say they stick with the same colors and they just add a new color jersey. You know like some teams have three color jerseys. Sixers have a white, blue, and black uni. Jazz have white, purple, and black uni. Well the Rockets should have three color jerseys too. I'm going with white, Blue(recentcolorblue), and red like the red on the side of the unis they now wear.
Personally I would like to see the Rockets make a variation of the Olympic jerseys that Team USA wore in the 2000 Olympics. I thought the style of the jersey was great. On the blue jersey, or road jersey, they could put "ROCKETS" in red letters with white trim where "USA" was at, and the white or home jersey could have "HOUSTON" written in blue letters with red trim. I've drawn it, and I think it looks good, if I can find a scanner, I'll put it on my next post. And as for the option of a third jersey, hell same style as the ones listed above with red jerseys, either blue or white lettering, etc. And the new logo could be placed on the back of the jersey at the top (kind of how the Mavericks have their star above the number). I think if the Rockets did this it would be the best jersey in the league, and it would be a classic one just like the Celts, Bulls, and Lakers that just have the name, nothing too flashy, no pinstripes (thank God), just simple, just like how it used to be.
