it just baffles me the fact that our main super star is 29, running out of time to stay in his prime to win a championship, and our main concern is saving our new owner money lol

You're seriously overvaluing our pick, and seriously undervaluing JaMychal Green IMO. All of those players you listed are good and well when you aren't trying to win a championship. But that's not where we are right now. Harden/CP3 don't have time to wait on the next "potential" Clint Capela to develop. We are in win-now mode, and player development has to take a backseat to proven commodities that can help you win.

And as another poster laid out so eloquently in another post, Green ranks in the top 15 in terms of rebounding at his position, is long, athletic, can shoot the 3 at a very good clip, and can defend when asked to. He's the exact type of player we're looking for, on an expiring contract, that will absolutely help us beat Golden State.

    I'll tell you why.

They ARE NBA caliber players. Not the D-Leagues that Hardens carrying

They are both defensive oriented players that fill one of our needs- what they are good at offensively gels with our system

They are both playing for a contract this offseason

Defense is a lot about hustle

Will they hustle wont be a question. They going to play their @$$e$ off for us all year and take advantage of every moment in the limelight during playoffs.

When it comes to role players, I love taking on expiring contracts. They play with their best effort and then you always have some cap reliefs to potentially get someone even better that offseason. If Morey gets it done it's a winning move for this season, and the offseason.

JaMychal Green + Temple is a much better package than Burks simply because JMG fills a NEED as a backup PF and stretch C. Burks would be fighting time with Gerald Green. Just depth. Burks would be depth like Temple would be depth. JMG fills a need. And if I am the Rockets I look to try hard to re-sign JMG in the offseason as an asset.

Back off Hornets! You already got Marvin Williams there to soak up PF minutes.

Really excited that Danilo Gallinari might be available, he is shooting 44.6% from 3 and has 19.5 PER this season averaging 19 points a game. Having a 6' 10" SF/PF that can take some of the scoring load off Harden would be nice. He seems like such a good system fit for us.

"The Clippers’ deal sending Harris to the Sixers for Shamet and picks is a sign that they aren’t prioritizing making the playoffs this season. If the Clippers miss the postseason, they will keep their top-14 protected first-round pick that’s owed to the Celtics (and it would become top-14 protected in 2020). Expect them to be active over the next day: Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, and Danilo Gallinari could all help a playoff contender."

I just think Green is basically "meh". He's like a PF version of James Ennis.
Nice addition, but not moving the needle a ton. In a big group of guys like that throughout the league.
And I value a pick, be it used, traded, or whatever, basically equal to that, and recognize there is no "true" win-now this year with the GSW... but maybe next year if we see the exodus of KD and Boogie.

Bad defender and even if we wanted him, the Clippers want to deal him for expiring contracts.

    We don't have any.

    Is that our main concern?

Did we not offer 4 picks for Jimmy Butler? Where are you getting this info?
