If we're drafting someone with a last name ending in "c" then after careful analysis of a 2 minute video, I like Karlo Matkovic over Jovic.
Banchero and either Eason, Sochan or Williams please. Im also ok if Duren is available and we go for him in the late lotto.
Stone doesn't care about individual workouts. Said evaluation is 99% off film and 1% workout/interview. Lazy AF.
Q: does wo v chair have any real value? Spending time with the prospect, yes, but do the workouts really add value to the knowledge base?
All these workouts look similar to me. The prospect takes a few uncontested shots, then gets patted on the shoulder as they go in for a dunk.
Whatever his evaluation technique he uses is fine by me. He had a wonderful draft and also seems to get pretty good journeyman and G-League guys. Don’t really see anything lazy about it. Probably only bring guys in that he can’t discern from tape some aspect of their game or personality.
I wish Stone had said 90%/10% but I get his point. Your dislike of Stone is a little disingenuos in having this statement quantify him as lazy. Prospect evaluation and drafting obviously sits on the good side of the ledger right now.
Yes. The question was meant to ask which part of the time together, possible draftee/team creates the most effect. IMO, and from my experience, it’s the dinner.
The amount of background work that goes into who they pick is so much larger than a weekend in Houston. This front office isn’t cutting corners, Rafael just is not great at the media game
Not to mention that watching hours upon hours of tape sounds much more taxing than looking at a live workout of a prospect.
Maybe that's the 1% he was talking about. I don't really see how hitting uncontested shots in a workout setting is in any way impressive. Ben Simmons is reportedly killing it from 3 in practice.
