Not exactly sure what you expect, but I’m sure you would’ve said Brad Stevens a chance.

Word, a big part of the missing was with Westbrook. His injury prevented him from being explosive against their smaller defenders and slower that their fastest ones. It's in those in-between spaces that we thrive and exploit. Westbrook absolutely murders LA in the block in ISO... being injured, he couldn't get around anyone so he had to rely on his mediocre jump shot.

I’ve heard Rockets have no interest in Sampson (who I like as well). You will not even see him interviewed for the position. They want cheap and the rest is window dressing from the team. sadly, this means we’ll have a rince and repeat season with Morey making the decisions and the coach implementing them.

So you're mad at the Rockets for the pool of available coaches? Got it

Anthony Grant - 29-2 at Dayton and has actually been more than an assistant. Kind of like a Brad Stevens type coach.
    Jason Kidd
    Mark Jackson
Glad you asked: Anthony Grant (gr8 coach at Dayton); Dave Joerger; Jason Kidd; and gulp (I’ll be hated for saying this one) Mark Jackson. All these have one thing in common, they are coaching or have coachedbut are not retreads by any means. This team needs someone who has been in the trenches and actually head coached. Assistants will be run over and spit out by Morey, Harden, and Westbrook.

    Good post.
Hire an coach overachiever like East JVG for playoffs success. It doesn’t mean 6-8 seed can’t defeat top 3 seed. If the team had a bad bench, it has to focus on playoffs success.

    goal

    first round defeat Clippers
    2nd round defeat Warriors

    then go from there.

I do not think it's his first problem.

The Rockets PR will sell those naive fans that this team is still a contender and not a pretender, count on it.

No matter who the next coach is.

Blessed are those souls that are still falling for it.

Feigen and the media landscape are too soft and working for the team.

They are rarely demanding results like the papers in the big markets.

There hasn't a pressure cooker for an eternity.

    Same old lies.

Adelman was GREAT here, he didn't run smallball like MDA. So stop with the propaganda. It's his literal job to find players and maximize their strengths. Morey is not out there coaching. Coaches can run their own sets if they KNOW HOW TO DO IT. That is what would work best for the Rockets. Instead of just hoping Westbrook or Harden can make something out of nothing. Most of the time they do but it would be nice to have a couple of go-to for-sure point when needed down the stretch in close games. Trading Capela cut off Harden's pick and roll/alle-op op game now he just shoot contested 3's, drives and passes out to another contested 3 from someone else, very predictable Lakers defense changed to challenge every shot after game one and MDA did nothing.

What Morey effectively says can be summarized as "here MDA, these are the stats for each player. This is what they are good at. 3 pointers are really good (this must be where the confusion is. Contested 3's by a sketchy or inconsistent shooter are obviously not as good as open 3's by a lights out shooter. Problem with only setting a goal to hit a certain amount of 3's a game as a all encompassing road to a win is with inconsistent shooters and ever changing variables(in game conditions). That's only half the battle to win a game, let alone a series, or a championship.) Oh hey by the way if you can get us a couple of free shots with the clock stopped that would be great too".

That's pretty much it. It's not life for death. It's not magic. Maybe some coaches have trouble keeping that in mind while coaching but at the end of the day players and the front office want the same thing, to win. Office doesn't care how you do it, but GET HER DONE! It's when you don't get it done and you haven't been maximizing team strengths and building team chemistry is when it becomes a problem and you get fired for not saying "Hey Harden stop taking all those dumb ass contested shots, let's take the lead first" or flat out make any adjustments. Also if you really look at the teams that are wining as a team they are doing these things to win. We need chemistry though. Yes our guys get along off court, but on court, not so much. It's going to take all these things to come together or it won't happen. Coaching/Defense/Team chemistry (this can not be overstated enough)/Above average shooting (hopefully will be a side effect of team chemistry). I know there has to be a balance you want your star players to play their game but when he's off or it's not working because of adjustments the coach has to do something to compensate. That's why he's the coach, Harden is hard headed he won't change, he's going to ball regardless. Harden and coach have to build these role players up and have them ready for playoffs.

Morey finds the players with resources provided but has no actual bearing on the offense that's out on the floor. Winning fixes all though. Even if a coach wasn't running what you perceive to be "Morey's offense", if we were WINNING it wouldn't matter who's offense were running what. We are not though. All though it was Harden (not making adjustments) and MDA (not making adjustments) you could also say House (making the wrong adjustments, lol) are to blame for this post season blunder.

Don't despair. It's only because you've been seeing the same old thing for the last 3 years. Fear not we must use our battle cries as as songs of comfort. SPOON!

    I fear not.

A solace would be either obtaining a high pick or trade Ego and or WB for an exciting pair of young players/one player.

A future should be carved out at all cost.

I like the fact we are looking at unknown coaches.

Known coaches are retread losers. There’s no such thing as a championship free agent coach. Not since maybe Phil Jackson

What promised land??? Do you think you are going to have some sort of transformational spiritual experience if the Rockets win a championship?? If so, You must be one of the most unhappy, empty people in the world because you haven't had that experience in 25 years if you were even a fan during the last Championship.

This is a BUSINESS people!!! A business that is designed to take YOUR money in exchange for you being ENTERTAINED, THATS IT!!! NOTHING ELSE.

ITS A BUSINESS!! They dont owe the city of Houston anything. They don't owe you anything. Unless you thought that the money you spent on Rockets gear and tickets was an exchange for you to get to watch THEM win a Championship and make Millions of dollars off endorsements. In case you were somehow misinformed or deceived by someone, You won't get paid $hit. You paid them, they don't pay YOU!! There is no I owe you from them.

FANATICISM IS MUTATED FORM OF r****dATION.

    Rant over.

The Rockets are done, with Harden and Westbrook they are a regular season team only.

You say ‘next couple of moves’.... as if you:

    a) think we have something attractive on the roster or in the draft picks closet to give to another team for a piece good enough to elevate us into the championship contending tier. I hate to be the one to give you this newsflash... but...

And b) think Tilman will make the right moves to better this team as opposed to make his pockets weigh a little more with a few extra dollar bills in them. What moves in his ownership career so far have proven this to you, instead of the exact opposite?

We will be in the playoffs regardless thanks to the brilliance of James Harden.

Our championship window is been closed and locked, the sooner you understand this the less hurt you open yourself up to from this owner and franchise. The writing is on the wall, there’s going to be plenty of it moving forward with good old Tilman.

How u just going to leave morey out,he gives away 1sts round picks away and bad contracts like if its candy. plus this philosophy of chuking up 3s is straight absurd, he thinks hes so smart that no one can tell him nothing, talking about 3s are better than 2s,a low percentage 3 is not better than a high percentage 2,this dude sold out on dantoni ball ,trading away capela and a 1st for Covington ? You can't tell u could of negotiated a better deal elsewere, how about all those times were he over paid players, anyone who thinks hes a top 6 gm is a fool.Did u not see how the small ball experiment failed miserably? Was i not the one who made a post saying Small ball wont work.i always said we were not winning the championship because dantoni dont give af about defense, putting pj at the 5 and Gordon at the 3 is saying I care about offense and not defense.Morey lacks common sense. How many years do yall want to give this fool? If it wasn't for harden he would be fired a long time ago.wat about developing players? He put us in a deep hole and it's not looking good.
