Shaw never played for the Rockets, we cut him before he boarded a flight to Houston. That would sure leave him thinking we're classy. But how about this one? Ron Harper. 6 away from 200, I'd be at 300 if I hadn't spent four weeks away from the BBS. Ah well ------------------ [This message has been edited by NewGuy (edited August 15, 2000).]
i know his name and ive been in other NBA sites were he revealed his name to be ......... Derek Fisher ------------------ "And Raul missess the Penalty in the 89th minute of the Euro2000 and Spain is sadend again" by Spanish Fan

NewGuy, I think you are the winner, especially when I read this quote again. Who is best friends with a player that is or has been on the Rockets? Unfortunately, that leads me to Ron Harper and a certain #33. ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net Sign Mo Taylor. Bench Kenny Thomas. Check on the Lakers' website. They have a guard who's interests include fishing and playing cards. This guy's interests are hunting, fishing and playing cards. The guy on the Lakers' website is Brian Shaw. That means that this guy is either Brian Shaw or someone who did some research. HEB-Thanks for the Mo Taylor updates! From the pics at the bottom, Mo looks like he's in GREAT shape. Poor Lue hasn't been mentioned...or Celestand. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
My mistake. I didn't think to try and matchup his profile here with some others. So much for the idea of it being Harper. Welcome Brian! ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? I think we will make it, but I think Dream will be the X factor. If he has a solid season; 15 and 8 or so and can fill the lane on defense; we will be all right. Last year, we didn't have anybody that could fill the lane. Cato can block shots, but he doesn't change shots the way hakeem does. I think it has to do with the respect players give hakeem. If hakeem can stay healthy and can give 25 mins every night then we are in the playoffs. Name the only player that ever made a b*tch out of Shaq. He will be the deciding factor. ------------------
If it is Brian Shaw, I have a question. What was it like playing with, possibly, the GREATEST player to ever play in the NBA,Larry Bird? p.s. Bill Russell wasn't bad either ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.

Hello all! I've been playing ball all my life, and I've gotta say as long as I have been around the Rockets have always been one of the classiest organizations. Some of my closest buddies have gone through or are in the Rocket system. I'm currently with the Lakers, and have been traveling around from nba site to nba site this summer talking to fans and gathering information for a new site a few of us NBArs are planning to releast in 2001. I absolutely love the whole idea behind message boards and basketball. MAD fun! Question: Once a squad is at that point of just below average, it's very difficult to ever get out of it. The Rockets are at that point now, and I see it being very tough for them to get out of it any time soon. But then there's that one man. I worked out a little with Houston's ROY when I was in Atlanta for a 3 day summer league. He's looking great, and has been really busting it this off season. He's definitely got that look in his eyes... Nice board you've all got here, and hope to embark in solid conversation here in the future. (By the way, I've released my real name on a few nba board sites, but have experienced problems with people getting angry because they believe I am lying about who I am. So I am hesitant to do this.)
Sorry, I forgot to ask my question. Do Rocket fans believe Houston has a shot at snatching that 7 or 8th seed next year? ------------------ Back to back!
Welcome to the board. It is a pleasure to have you here. As for the playoff chances, yes we have a great chance IMHO. ------------------ Houston Rockets Forever!! In Rudy We Trust [This message has been edited by Dennis2112 (edited August 15, 2000).]
don't take it the wrong way, but i could care less if you're shaquille o'neal or granville waiters. more important to me is that you DO have something of quality to say/ask. as for the rockets chances this year, i think we have a decent shot at the 8 spot this year. however, i think that the only way that we make it is if - and i know this may be bbs blasphemy - hakeem either gets hurt or plays less than 15 minutes per game. since i wish him no ill will, i'll just hope rudy plays him <15 min. it's crucial to our success this year and in future years that kelvin cato develops his game. and he won't be able to do that watching TGO (The Great One) play in front of him. cato, as i'm sure you know, has the potential to be one of the top 5 centers in the nba not only because of his talent but because of francis and mobley's talent. so, if seattle, which is a one-trick pony, falters or if sacramento, which is an overrated non-defensive glamour team falters, we have a shot. my guess is sacramento. i think gp can carry seattle to the playoffs again on sheer will. however, when you have a point guard (j-dub) who shoots first (at a low %) and passes second (unnecessarily fancy passes at that), you are nothing but vulnerable. never mind that if they get off to a rocky 1/3 of the season (thanx to j-dub), c-webb may begin to get frustrated and do TOO MUCH on the court. yea, it's enough to win a few games - trying to dominate the court on both sides - but it also alienates your teammates. the best thing that could happen is for the rox to keep playing their 3 guard rotation, sign and play mo taylor (significant minutes with k.thomas coming in for a change of pace), and allow cato to blow up. if they do this, and we get a surprise few point from the wizard, langhi, etc., we have a potent, potent lineup. the nba, as you know, is changing to offenses which are geared around exceptional 1on1 players. the difference between the good ones and the gr8 ones is that the gr8 ones know how to make their teammates better (shaq). steve francis is on his way to being one of those players. so yea, watch out #8, here we come. ...and welcome to the best bbs on the net. ------------------ miles ahead of the rest [This message has been edited by verse (edited August 16, 2000).]
People got angry because they thought you were lying? I can see us doubting you but not getting mad. Anyway, I think the only thing keeping us out of the playoffs is the Western Conference. 6 of last year's playoff teams seem like locks next year, and the last 2 spots seem to be down to Houston, Denver, Dallas, Sacramento, and Seattle. If we can land Mo Taylor and they can keep the same chemistry they showed in their late run last season, then it should be a good year for the Rockets. Not to mention that we are getting a healthy Dream. So take our team that made a late run (9 out of last 13?) and add an improved frontcourt (Taylor-Olajuwon over Thomas-Cato) and this team will finish .500 at least. ------------------
welcome. People probably got mad because you are playing with the Lakers. grrrr ... I think the Rockets have a slim chance to make the playoffs. If - Hakeem is healthy and plays a solid 15-20 minutes a game - Cato improves - Wiz is consistent - Shandon becomes a little more assertive offensively - Mobes and Francis try to play D - KT or Collier has a big year at the pf spot - no major injuries then yeah, I can see the Rockets making the playoffs. But not likely. it'll take a while, but the Rockets should be legitimate contenders in a few years. oh, and this is THE best board on the web.
