You're not getting my point. By all measurable stats Sengun is a better player right now (stats wise) and also playing in a better league. No reasonable argument to be made that Victor is a better player right now. None. That's not a Statement on Victor's potential. What is so difficult to understand about this?
Don't know about Victor's game or potential but Wembanyama international pro stats from this past season: PPG: 9.4 RPG: 5.1 BPG: 1.8 FG%: 47% 3PT%: 26% FT%: 70% Sengun's first and only season in international play: PPG: 19.2 RPG: 9.4 BPG: 1.7 FG%: 47% 3PT%: 19% FT%: 81% Wembanyama's PER 36 stats: PPG: 18.4 RPG: 10.5 BPG: 3.5 Sengun's PER 36 stats: PPG: 24.4 RPG: 11.9 BPG: 2.1 According to many websites, the Turkish league that Sengun won the MVP in is a higher ranked league than France's pro A league where Victor has been playing. Victor's also played 2 years internationally whereas Sengun only played one year in the Turkish league, still manage to win the league MVP.
I'm more concerned about Victor Wembanyama's ability to stay healthy. He's 7 foot 3, and may still grow a bit taller, making him one of the tallest players to ever play in the league. The list of players at his height that stayed healthy is very short. In fact, if you look at Hall of Fame players that are 7 foot 3 or taller, all of them have had injury ridden careers, likely due to the increased wear and tear from being a focal point of the team's offense and defense. Granted, the list isn't very long (only 3 HOF players that are 7 foot 3 or taller), and modern day medicine and practices could potentially improve a player's ability to stay healthy.
