Not a good offer from who's perspective? Houston ? NYK?

If NY doesn't think that Anthony is going to resign then they won't get good value for him. Once you get this close to potential free agency then your return will be much lower. That's why Minnesota needs to trade Love now while they still have the leverage of hanging on to him for another year. NY doesn't have that option.

Teams always say they won't participate in a sign and trade but in the end it's in their best interest and they usually end up doing it. When push came to shove Cleveland agreed to a SnT for Lebron and Toronto for Bosh. Look at what Orlando got in return for Dwight...pennies on the dollar because they had no leverage.

Not great. I mean we would improve from last year but I'd rather have three stars and minimum contracts around them. I want Melo, I think that's our best shot at a championship. Obviously love dirk or bosh too but those guys are unrealistic.

    Exactly.

If he says we need to bring in a star then people will say that he's throwing his teammates under the bus. If he says we don't necessarily need a star then those same people will say that he doesn't want to share the ball.

That's a pretty easy game to play.

People saying Lowry would be a better option than Melo are delusional.
Yes Lowry was solid last year. But he played on the raptors who way overachieved in a conference where only a few teams were trying to win and he also shot a pretty crappy fg% I think. You want three stars. Melo is that star. Lowry isn't a star.

Improving perimeter D means Parson or even Harden has to go/change. Unless I am missing something? Improving D at PG position is superfluous as Bev is an All Star defender already.

How the hell did Melo's team not achieve anything in that same conference?

Bev doesn't play game changing D like Bledsoe.

Still does not make sense to upgrade PG position when team is in desperate need of wing defense. We already have Bev, spend the few meager dollars to upgrade the defense AROUND Harden. Switching one very good defender for another very good defender is just maintaining status quo.

ADDING another good starting defender, without losing one, is more efficient.

I will take my chances with Melo from NY, MLE for Hawes and Tucker for the BAE... Alexander will pay Parsons to come back...

    Howard/Hawes
    Anthony
    Parsons/Daniels
    Harden/Tucker
    Beverly/Felton

I wonder if James is really on the same page with Dwight about their window...James has been saying the same thing since he's been here, and although now it's the PC answer, I wonder if part of him really believes he and others have time to grow.

Dwight isn't getting any younger, and based on his playoff performance, Dwight knows it.

maybe you read into it wrong. im not expecting him to say that, but morey just declined parsons to resign later after we get a 3rd star its clear what morey is trying to do here. Players should stay on board and support whatever management are leaning towards PERIOD he did the opposite.

rockets are not the only team in the NBA trying to get star players to sign to a 4 yr deal this summer, players and agents listen to these type of things while making a decision, especially if you're trying to get a STAR to come play with 2 other stars & already unsure if it will work or not. HARDEN & MELO have the same game no one knows if it will even work but its no evidence harden is open to even trying it. everyone needs to be on board coach/players, morey cant talk them into it himself

    1. howard.... kobe "i will show you how to win a ring" and not really caring if he stays or leaves.... rockets coming in 10 deep doing anything to get him to come to the H. parsons staying in his ear

    2. lebron, wade, bosh making it clear they want to come together and get not 1, not 2 not 3 not 4 etc... guys on the same page

    3. rose & noah making it clear they want melo to join them chi, even spoke to him over all star break.

    4. MELO - as of now i just dont see parsons & harden on board with recruiting him more than other teams players will, especially parsons knowing they are putting him as first priority

If guys are on board to win championships guys are on board to Melo or Durant. Parsons is a good player but not a good enough 3rd player for Howard and Harden.

    You forgot part of it:

But according to Rondo, Sunday’s meeting at Fenway wasn’t a big sales pitch to get Love to Boston.

“The only pitch that was thrown was from Jon Lester,” Rondo told reporters at the Celtics’ practice facilities on Monday. “I didn’t pitch anything. I just told him to enjoy his time here.”

Rondo...he's no Chandler Parsons when it comes to recruiting. Maybe he doesn't want to share the ball, right?

I agree that Melo should have gotten to the playoffs but that's Knicks team was a total mess. Everyone on that team, except Melo and Hardaway, were garbage and made so many errors. They probably gave away more wins by their mental errors than actually losing, if that makes sense.

Lowry and the Raptors overachieved to the fullest. Wasn't the plan going to tank if they weren't going anywhere the first 45 days of the season? Fortunately, the Rudy Gay trade helped them by clearing more shots for everyone.

In any regular year, the Knicks and Raptors would have made the playoffs.

    My hope:

The Rockets retain Parsons and with his new, guaranteed high paying salary, and he re-commits himself to close to tenacious D.

Wow, a very bolt statement from Harden. Won't Morey hyperventilate when he hears this? LOl
