Uninformed speculation: Maybe Rox and Parsons essentially struck a deal on his next contract in exchange for letting him out early.

I.e., in exchange for declining option he agrees to re-sign with them for agreed upon price w/out soliciting other offers. Just a guess.

Risk is he pulls a Boozer, but perhaps there's enough of a comfort level there. Again, this is just a possibility I'm considering

Mild support for theory: Morey has said Parsons has asked what way they could pay him sooner. Maybe this was fruit of those discussions.

To those asking, yes it would be similar to Boozer situation. That's why there'd have to be a comfort level there.

Cant see anyone answering this question from before, but can a team offer a poison pill contract and make it hard for us to match? That would really suck

I think you're misunderstanding it. It's saying you can't sign and trade another team's free agent (I.e. We sign and trade Lowry to Dallas for Monta Ellis).

Nope. Poison pill is for 1 or 2 year rookie deals.

    LOL.
What if that "exciting free agent" Les was talking about was really just us resigning Parsons for exciting free agent level money.

This is exactly the info I needed to hear. Morey has a plan. Possibly Knows he has one of the FA's in his pocket. Will match chandlers offer AFTER he signs his FA.

    I CAN SLEEP NOW.

    That's a bit vague.

Can you expand on that more? It's been pretty dry here the past week or so with no new info (not just from you, but in general).

I think he's talking about the situation in general. He's guaranteeing we're going after a third star.
It's all up to Morey now. I can't believe this is happening. Its do or die.

Parsons seems like the guy who fits better in a place like New York or LA. He seems to love the spotlight.
That being said, third star + Parsons on the Rockets please.

I guess it's good to not wasted another year of Dwight's prime. Dwight has to have talked to Melo about this. Absolutely.

If Rockets really push/beg for Melo, even if they don't get him, I see Parsons gone.

He doesn't want to be that guy.

He feels there should be some respect. He won't come off the bench.

Fegan is going to get this man paid. Fegan is smiling :)
