http://www.iamagm.com/news/2012/06/25/rockets.decline.hornets.trade.offer.10.pick.14.and.16 The Houston Rockets are desperately trying to make a splash this offseason, and that includes the possibility of moving up in the draft. The No. 10 overall pick is not going to cut it. The team recently declined the New Orleans Hornets trade offer of their No. 10 pick for the rights to the Houston's No. 14 and 16 selections. Houston is reportedly in advanced negotiations with the Toronto Raptors (#7) and Sacramento Kings (#5) about acquiring their picks with Kyle Lowry possibly in play. According to Chad Ford from ESPN.com: After the first nine picks, things start to break down a little bit. The Hornets can go in a lot of directions and also are exploring trades. Sources say they offered the Rockets the 10th pick for Nos. 14 and 16 but were turned down last week. If they keep the pick, they really need help at center, point guard and small forward. Although Rivers doesn't fill any of those positions, I'm told the Hornets have been enamored with him. Tyler Zeller, Jeremy Lamb and Moe Harkless are other possibilities here.
At least based on Chad Ford's column on the Tiers, according to NBA GMs with whom he's spoken (and take that with a grain of salt), the cutoff from Tier 3 to Tier 4 is between the 8th and 9th picks. The cutoff from Tier 4 to Tier 5 is between the 18th and 19th picks. This would mean that the Rockets have the opportunity to draft THREE Tier 4 players. To the Rockets, it probably doesn't make much sense to trade two Tier 4 picks for one Tier 4 pick. I doubt the Rockets deal 14 + [either 16 or 18] for anything lower than the #8 pick.
I think Morey said he'd do the deal with New Orleans if they drafted J'Covan Brown at 10. Then he would've declined due to "basketball reasons"
lol. wtf....thats the weirdest gif ever. What the hell was Smith doing? That **** bothers me just looking at it, makes me want to bat off an imaginary hand....
