Rockets deal for Dillon Brooks (4 yrs/$86 million + incentives)

Every time he see Brooks is undeniably good...

 

I was wrong. Dillon Brooks is more than earning his contract. His defense was expected, but his offense has been a pleasant surprise.

 

Yup. Talks a lot of trash until it’s time to back it up.

 

This is one contract that is paying HUGE dividends

All grunts, no eye contact

 

I'm amazed by the way he was able to defend Ingram on the perimeter AND play excellent post defense on Williamson, when needed.

And the way he kept his center of gravity low and used his hip to keep Williamson slightly off balance was masterful. Reminded me a lot of Chuck Hayes.

 

Fair. Brooks has been so much better than I thought possible based on his career up to this point. His defense was never in question, it's the offense that is so shocking. He's not trying to do too much and he's only taking the shots he can make. Jalen is largely doing the same the last 3 games too so I think it's a coaching thing.

It's been fun to see.

 

Brooks has always been good. All it takes it watching games to know. The media is always gonna create narratives, we've seen it before with the Rockets, but when you pay attention, you know the facts.
