House will be a UFA after this season. So he either needs to be traded for an asset or extended on a market friendly contract. You don't want House the asset to walk out the door for nothing.
Deduced by who the starting 5 is: Wall-Gordon-House-Wood-Theis The youth/rebuild we're actually excited to see just got relegated to the bench and G league. They'll lose a play-in game and the PR team will spin it like some massive improvement over last season's shitshow.
its mind boggling how much and how many fans are down on an otherwise a solid two-way player, on a bargain deal, just because of a single mistake that has nothing to do with basketball whatsoever...it was just a break of a weird bureaucratic protocol...and it was probably happening all over the place the only difference being this was reported because he played good vs lakers and lebron...
Nothing is worse than a star player QUITTING on his team in multiple elimination games. House getting sent home doesn’t compare to Harden in game 5 vs the Spurs
Nothing is worse than winning 1 playoff series in the 15 years before Harden got here. Or the fact we haven’t been good enough to win a title in 26 years
He wasn't even the best playoff performer the first year he got out the first round here lol. You can make a argument Eric Gordon's been more consistent than Harden in the playoffs
Agreed and I don't think anyone wants to trade for him as an expiring contract when they can just sign for him next season. If they lock him up to a team friendly deal they can attach him with possibly wall or gordon to get something of use.
It was a bad season for him and he was injured half the time, didn't have anything to show for it. I am surprised the team even wants him given that there are so many undrafted or oversea SFs in the market. Look, I get that he shot a decent percentage 2 years ago. Lmao. It's not going to matter that much going forward, you have to develop younger players, that is on your agenda.
So we are going to sign somebody we don’t want in the hope we can use him to get something better? This is ridiculous. Either we want him or we trade him. If a team wants House they are not going to be hesitant to give up a 2nd rounder just because he becomes a FA next year. The other team could negotiate his next deal. If the Rockets want to extend him it is because they think its worth it for their team.
Do not like him. Weak mind, not enough focus, confortable with his current status (which has gotten worse over the years). He looked like a potential above average defender 2 years ago but has gone backwards and seems OK with it. His shooting %s have also go down... He's basically a worse player than 2 years ago and has a worse attitude, after having played good minutes. There are plenty of guys out there with more interesting conditions for the SF position and more hunger. I would trade him, not extend him.
I don’t like him. Something off-putting about him to me. Can’t really put my finger on it, specifically. Just many little things. I don’t even like the way the jersey fits on him, always looks weird around the collar, stretched out like the v-neck guy from the commercial.
Are you trying to redefine what “rentals” mean in all sports, and why rentals don’t carry as much trade value? It’s no coincidence the Rockets are negotiating an extension now ... it’s because 6 months from now is trade deadline season, and they likely have to wait 6 months to trade him per rules. ie, if they don’t “get ‘er done” now, they lose ability to trade him this year. if they didn’t care to trade him, they’d wait longer to negotiate. Why rush?
This logic is absolutely correct. But if there is one asset I couldn’t care less we lost for nothing, it is Danuel House.
You may need to re-watch Rockets playoffs games from previous years. Was Gordon benched a whole 4th quarter of a elimination game like Harden?
