This line of reasoning seems like a stretch, and I think every single person in the FO would scoff at it. The Rockets do not operate on the whims of players that Silas reportedly likes. They hired him so they wouldn’t have to deal with D’Antoni/Gundy types that have their pet players.
I believe the Rockets either will Draft the best available or a sleeper Small Forward, Defensively plays like Usman Garuba.
In a world of "What have you done for me lately?" House's tragic decision to put desire over team is a classic example of how the choices we make can have consequences beyond just us. As a player, House has showed some true potential as a versatile 3&D wing, but although he has the athleticism and skill, he hasn't been to consistently be that guy. After the bubble debacle, like most fans I was ready to ship him out or even cut him, but we haven't. So we have to ask ourselves why we haven't? The obvious conclusion is because we think he has value. With that in mind, if Stone extends him while his value is low and Silas is able to resurrect his value during pre-season/season than Stone has another asset (another chess piece if you will) to move during the season for value. House's value to a contender could surprise us. If we don't trade him and he'd playing well, we have a solid contribute who should play his heart out for the team given the circumstances. Personally, I'd prefer he be traded, but if he stays, forgiving (or at least moving on from) his actions will be tied directly to what he contributes to the team.
Probably been said but I don’t think he’s a neutral factor in the development of our youth. You do not want low-bball-IQ vets around your youngsters, IMHO.
He has reportedly working hard on his 3-Pt shot with Lucas all summer. Maybe, they like what they see.
He played well in stretches off the bench when WOW actually looked decent. But now if Green starts at SF you need to also give minutes to Tate and KMJ. I want those two guys getting run over a mediocre vet.
Not for intelligent fans he didn't...... He made a mistake, but is still a guy who can shoot 40% from 3pt land and get 10-15ppg.....at a decent rate... DD
If you can sign him to a very team friendly deal, it probably helps in terms of trading him. A 2 year extension at like 6 million per year would hopefully make him flippable for an early 2nd rounder.
Hopefully these extension talks are about extending his time away from this team and it’s impressionable young rookies . House got a taste of the harden lifestyle hanging with accountants
They don't have to want him. Sometimes you just need varying sizes contracts to make a trade work under the cba. Trades are difficult when you only have really large contracts and vet minimum contracts. I seem to remember Morey mentioning something like this before.
Need to open up shots for Green, Sengun, DJ, A/X It just doesn't make sense. Need House's 8 FGAs somewhere else.
You just called 90% of the people on this board unintelligent. You’re mocked for your continuous boneheaded calls, so nobody takes your moronic opinion seriously!
He isn't young and he has pretty much reached his potential. All things aside, he is pretty much a fake dude who makes mistakes at age 27 wasn't it......
