unless we get one of the top 3 point shooters in the league in return, this would be an extremely stupid move to trade terry.
I agree about trading Shved before Terry, but not sure on Papa. Close call. The rockets may have a preference for trading one over the other, but I seriously doubt that would factor heavily into any trade decision. If a team says it wants Terry instead of Papa, Morey won't make a fuss about it.

BRUH... What if Terry hits the series winner Lillard style against the Blazers? NO better yet against the Mavs???
I think they would offer Terry before Papa in a trade for a G. Two reasons: 1. With a new G (like Dragic, Lawson, or Calderon) Terry's role would be greatly diminished. Practically to nothing. 2. Papa's contract could be very useful for offseason trades with the non-guarantee, while Terry's has no value after the trade deadline.
1. McHale does love Terry. You can tell by listening to McHale's interviews. 2. McHale loving Terry does not mean that Morey wouldn't trade Terry if needed to land someone that Morey really wants. Terry is still an excellent shooter, and a great locker room guy, but you can find a replacement for him if needed. 3. That said, there are very few scenarios that I can imagine where the inclusion of Terry is going to be a key part of the transaction. Right now, his primary value as a trade piece (especially if the other team is rebuilding) is to be a matching expiring salary rather than a talent that the other team really wants. As has been pointed out before, the Rockets have plenty of other expiring contracts for salary matching purposes. Unless we are talking about getting a player making a massive amount of $ back, there are ways to get things done without putting Terry in. I'm sure Terry's name came up in some sort of trade discussion, but probably just as one of several possible ways to make the contract math work. Doubtful that he's really worth "dangling" as anything enticing.
You can bet for the right move the Rockets would make him expendable. Terry is a player that any contender would like to have. With that said, I would like to keep Terry despite believing Canaan is the better player. His playoff experience should help the Rockets.
Maybe it's the classic Shane Battier or Rafer Alston trade--trade a vet your coach loves to play so the younger guy (Chase Budinger, Aaron Brooks) has a chance to play. Maybe Morey wants Canaan to play back-up PG. I think we're dangling Terry, Shved, Papa's contracts (or any combination of those)--each in the $4M range
I guess I say Pap is likelier to be offered cause the teams are going to probably want that contract over Terrys cause they have the option to try him out as a younger player who could be worth keeping around. Plus the other team will probably have to deal with a buyout situation that can be tricky. But yes you make a good point about Morey being able to use his salary in draft night trades ala Delfino and Dalembert. He also has the international agent situation to worry about. They don't want to turn off their other international draftees from coming over because the Pap situation reinforces the stigma about Morey and the asset thing. Sergio Lull might be the best the Rockets can get this Summer unfortunately.
Isn’t his track record of covering the Rockets bandwagoning Chris Brousard calling Dwight changing his mind and it’s 50/50? I don't remember hearing his name first reporting anything whenever the Rockets becomes rumored for a deal that actually got done.
The word use here is stupid. Terry is dangled as much as OKC is dangling Perkins in a trade. Which is to say it’s more the salary than the player.
