Actually, no one "want" anyone over Rybo. The vast majority of the people here would think he should be the first to be cut. However, he has one ugly little thing going for him: guaranteed contract.
i still dont understand how anyone in their right mind could give rybo a guranteed contract.. what the hell are his contract terms? who gave it to him and for how long and how much..
same people who gave Cato $42 mil for one good preseason game. Or the same people who gave Charlie Ward a 3 year deal when no one was even offering him a one year deal. (But this past offseason has been better)

with respect, to Sura, can someone explain what the deal is in terms of when medical insurance kicks in? I remember when Dream was retiring, he could not do it officially for months, until the med. insurance kicked in. Bobby cannot really retire, or he'll lose money, isn't that right? His contract can either be bought out by Les or by the Insurance company. Knowing Les, he is not going to do it, so that leaves the Insurance co. When can they do it? Do we have to wait till December, as someone was saying? In that case Sura will be taking a roster spot, unless the Rockets ask for a medical exemption spot... It's confusing...
they're different. padgett's more like a shane battier light in terms of hustle but reads the game better and makes very good passes.
It'd be cheaper to cut Lucas before letting Rybo go. Also easier now that Head and Bill have stepped it up.
What are you talking about? Hayes is our first center off the bench! There's NO WAY he's off of the active roster. Padgett will make it on the final 15, but not the active roster, not right away anyway. If he was going to push anyone off the active 12 (which I don't think he will) it would end up being V-Span. If I'm not mistaken we gave Jacobsen a 1 year guaranteed contract and Padget's contract is non guaranteed. I think Padgett makes it over Jacobsen, but seeing as SOMEONE with a guaranteed contract will be cut, my money is on RyBo getting cut.
IIRC,JVG said he only want 13-14 players on the roster. So I think Jacobsen will be cut, SUra will retire,and Ryan Bowen's contract will be bought out. By the way, if JL3 don't have the guaranteed contract, I think he will not make the team. And Scotty is already made the team in my opinion .
we need to keep padget and novack they can both shoot.we need to keep all the shooters we can get..anything can happen in the regular season...so let's not be dumb.

Well its no surprise Azubuike was let go. That guy didnt do much of anything. He's athletic, but so is 90% of the league. I will NEVER understand the Rockets' and fans' affection for Lucas. he just does not impress me. He's quick, and...well, that's all, he's quick. Where's this shooting prowess he's supposed to have? He gets taken advantage of so easily. He'll be another one we end up regretting giving a decent-sized contract to. The reason why I don't completely mind having around is because we need a 3rd true PG. But unless Alston, Head and VSpan get hurt severely, he better be riding IR all season.

Rybo is making just under 1 mil this season. When the Rockets waived Zendon Hamilton a couple of seasons ago he was making over 800k.
