Cisco's weapon is the ugly staredown but his defense has suffered throughout the season. He hasn't done anything as of late.
Remember 2011? Morey chased Pau Gasol and had the trade vetoed. Chased Nene but he reportedly didn't want to come to HOU unless there is Pau to play C. Then Morey turned his attention to bidding on Marc Gasol. Made a max offer to the restricted free agent but Marc stayed because Memphis made a better one. The Marc option was a "backup" not necessarily because Marc was inferior, but because Marc was less likely to become a Rocket (due to being restricted). Bosh is the Marc Gasol of 2014. Morey chased Melo first because Melo appeared to be more attainable. Bosh may well be equal to or preferable to Melo in Morey's mind in terms of better on court fit and talent. But he didn't look attainable. If Melo falls through, then Morey might as well take a shot at Bosh to see if he bites by some chance. Not holding my breath. After Bosh, I think Morey moves on to trying to deal for Love or Rondo or some other elite guy with a package of assets (FAs are preferable because they tend to be less costly in terms of assets going out). If that doesn't work, then it gets interesting-- either fill the team with role players, undervalued guys, reclamation projects, etc. (Ersan Ilyasova's name comes to mind) or make a fundamental bold move (trade Harden for Love).
When the apparent fourth option, after Melo/Lebron/Lowry, is Bosh who probably fits best with this team, then it's bound to be a good off season. I started the Bosh thread a couple of weeks ago, so I've really been interested in bringing him in. If Miami scoffs at the 15m Bosh is asking for, I would love to sign him and someone else with the remaining cap, someone like Jameer Nelson or a back up small forward.
I would not mind going for Gasol and NeNe again for the right price in a trade or so. Nene is still solid and Gasol well, for one or two years. That ostrich
bosh shouldn't get more than 8m per yr.. millsap is a more impactful PF and he gets no more than that. max money PFs are klove and lamarcus.. they can mix it up inside and rebound like crazy bosh does neither
Love is not going to mix it up inside and rebound like crazy with Howard inside. Let's get real for once!
Bosh is still an outstanding player and would be a perfect fit here. LOL on anyone who would pass on him. You people know nothing about basketball.
I would take Lebron, Melo or Love over him anyday but if he fail on all 3, I would gladly take Bosh. He played center most of the time for Miami, but with us he is next to Howard and presumably with Jones as well. I just hope we don't make him a 3 point shooter because his midrange shot is dead on and fills gaps in our offense.
YES PLEASE! A stretch 4 who can create his own shot and is excellent in PnR defense (one of our huge weaknesses). GET ER DONE MOREY GET ER DONE. Trade Lin, Resign Parsons, and sign Ramon Sessions
