Interesting how polar Bosh's options are: (1) take significant pay cut to stay with the heat so that they can improve roster and so that LBJ can get a max deal (2) leave and get a max deal on the market, potentially with other championship contenders.
Because Bosh is the kind of guy that carried Miami many times over the last 3 years when the other 2 were either injured or having an off night. The dude is a baller who sacrificed being a centerpiece to be 3rd banana. He still has it in him, make no mistake. Hell, Ill take Bosh over Melo. The dude fits well, and can win us games unlike TJones who gives up 40 points to Aldridge.
Rockets will offer the MAX to Bosh. The trick is how much less will Bosh consider to stay with Heat? Would he want to take less only to see LBJ bolt after one year? Real concerns here for Bosh.
This first thing I thought when I heard Rockets were approaching Bosh was: Like, oh yeah Lebron? #1 We'll take away your big 3 so now what? #2 No way Bosh takes that huge of a paycut, and that fantasy is the only way Riley can keep the Heat competitive next year. Well played, Morey. And at worse if we get Bosh, he would be an excellent fit. Plays 3rd fiddle well, stretches the court w the 3pt shots, plays D & shot blocks, staggering minutes between starter 4 and back up 5 so we solve the back up center void.
I don't agree with offering the max either, but his defense and versatility at the 5 is why he'd be a greater fit than say, Ryan Anderson.
So Bosh is the new Plan A

As ESPN reported late Thursday, Houston already courting Bosh in anticipation of Melo staying w/NYK. Must trade Lin to make Bosh big offer
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 5, 2014

Bosh is everything the Rockets need in their power forward. Well worth the max for us, IMO. I imagine this will be quite a divisive topic if this does go down, though.
Miami had Bosh playing to much center. He is a top tier Power Forward in the NBA, when he's playing Power Forward....
Because Bosh can play backup center when Dwight is out and Bosh is an elite PNR cover man to the tune of Asik. LMA would not have abused us with Bosh, and LMA would have had to play defense. Against the spurs, who does Duncan cover and who does Diaw/Splitter cover?
"HEAD GAMES!" It's all a bunch of speculation more so than solid inside intel, in my opinion. This whole thing is one big push-pull web of leverage. Melo calls Pau? Pau part of NY keeping Melo? Big 3 in Miami hinges on Bosh buying into a pay cut scenario? So Morey puts earworms in Bosh to play for Houston. If Bosh leaves, Miami Big 3 is ruined and Riley pushed for Pau even harder. Pau to Heat means Phil Jackson's plan to keep Melo is ruined. Riley & Pau have already met via phone reports have said. Game of Thrones, NBA-style!
"Bosh, if you come to Houston . . . you will will be able to have more rings than LeBron and Wade. You can tie Wade . . . NEXT YEAR!!" - Morey and all of Clutchfans Rocket River
Whatever the rest of us thinks, Morey himself clearly believes in Bosh. So if you don't like him, hope like hell he stays in Miami.
If Lebron and Melo and unattainable, you maybe right. I am sure someone will make the case for Love, but if that requires Parsons, having Bosh + Parsons is better than Love by himself, IMO.
