Rockets considering bringing back blue pinstripe jerseys?

Apparently, a couple of Rockets players like them:

"Return of a familiar face in the future?

The most surprising thing that came away from interviewing players for this story was when Austin Rivers proposed this peculiar idea.

"I wish we wore the jerseys with the pinstripes," said Rivers. "The blue with the pinstripes. Those ones go hard. The ones that Steve Francis wore."

Rivers isn't the only Rockets' player that feels that way either.

"I want to see how innovative they can become or would they use the same scheme," said Danuel House. "Steve Francis, Yao [Ming], and Dream played in them. It'll be cool since we're doing throwbacks now."

House was famously a Rockets' fan growing up and owned one of these jerseys, so it's not hard to see why he would like these uniforms to return. To this day defend, he'll even defend Houston's old logo that was heavily criticized at the time.

"It was cool," said House "It was different. It was like cartoonish."

 

I knew that they would like them. Got to roll with the times I guess.

 

Bunch of the fans grew up with the loud logos, and they're adults with nostalgia (and disposable income) .

Late 90's and early 00's, you used to see hip hop artists wear them in music videos. Teenagers used to wear NBA jerseys as part of regular street wear. It's less common nowadays.

Why not ketchup mustard and the late 90's uni.

These would be nice as an alternate...just don’t bring back the stupid looking rocket ship.

 

Now I like those colors much better than boring black and grey. I say that one and the old ketchup and mustard. One for retro and one to match our Texans colors. Oh, and guys, matching shoes really do make it all work. That pic is a perfect example. Those bright yellow shoes some of our guys wear just clash with the uniform.

Les Alexander who put a severe black mark on the Rockets attracting free agents when failing to pay Barkley $3 million for taking a low salary to sign free agents.

Then he was too stubborn and didn’t care about Barkley being on TV on the most popular show having a grudge against the Rockets

I refuse to buy one of those. They were hideous. I remember my Ma asked if I wanted a Steve Francis one, and were from the same area as Francis and I told her no without hesitation. I really didn’t care for those Jersey. I never had a team whose jersey I didn’t care for until then.

Those dildo uniforms are a blight on the franchises history. Hopefully they will never see the time of day again.

 

Yes let's remind everyone about the darkest times in Houston Rockets Franchise era! No Championship hope. Ugly uniforms. GRUNGE and good rap turned to Backstreet Boys and Britney. No thanks.
