    Portland isn't competing for a playoff spot, either. Maybe we're trying to trade with NJ and Portland is countering with Wallace?

    Portland wins the competition for Wallace. They have him now. Not for long though.

    There are other teams like Minny, Denver..... that are also in the running for a playoff spot.

    Portland is only one team less to worry about.

    I don't think any of it is an issue if we make the move for Pau. If we get Pau, we're going to the playoffs barring injury.

    Edit: (LOL... now that I actually think about it -- how can it be interpreted as Houston competing with Portland for Gerald Wallace? Portland already has him :))
