If the Melo thing happens, and the Melo calling for Lawson to start rumor is BS, then I don't expect Billups to stay in Denver without Melo. It would be a great move to get Billups along with Melo and ship Brooks out at the same time. I don't think the organization sees Ish as anything but an emergency 3rd PG. His shooting makes Rafer look like Nash.
goodbye Batman? no but really, just saying... If Morey trades away a PG wouldn't you think it would be Lowry now. Ish and Lowry together couldn't work cause neither of them can shoot and Lowry's got that hefty contract now still as the backup PG. I could see it happening.
This player is interesting plus he went four years to Wake University and they are known to have quality point guards. So for now, for a third string point guard who will most likely fight for his every minute he is a great add, thats if he stays around.
Bingo! Sounds like they might be gearing up to fill a hole that is about to open up with this signing.
The Rockets have been considering carrying 3 pt. guards this year. It could just mean they are doing what they said they where going to do. Or that
Lol @ all the people assuming this signing means Brooks or Lowry being traded. Give me a break, Smith is a rookie making pennies with this contract. Y'all make it seem like we went out and signed Mike Bibby or another solid PG who will earn playing time as a backup. I guarantee that if Brooks is packaged in a deal for Carmelo, Smith will not be the answer as the #2 PG behind Lowry. We would most likely bring in another PG via trade who has more experience. You really think we'd have this undrafted PG running the show if Lowry went down?? Come on guys... y'all are making too much of this. He's nothing but another asset in the making who will be playing for our D League team.
