Remember that he is planning to trade Luther Head probably at the deadline so he might get some playing time on the court. That replaces Head's minutes. I'm sure coach will figure out something. Maybe TMac more time on the bench to stay healthy or something like that.
Probably not a whole lot, considering he's a free agent this summer. Maybe a good team would want him for depth purposes, but I don't think they'd be willing to offer enough in return to make it worthwhile.
i'm glad he appreciates Battier as well. One of the reasons they value him so much is that he active, not passive. A lot of the players, inlcuding Yao and tmac have been passive or sometime just aren't sure what play to make, on defense and offense. Scola can be passive. Brent was passive with his shot earlier. Brooks as well. Rafer isn't passive, but sticks too much to one thing. Ron NEEDs to be passive sometimes. And so on. Battier seems to always know what to do on D and offense, taking on the perfect role, when he's on the court it allows others to fall in more easily because you know he's going to fallin automatically. It's like a puzzle, when you don't have any pieces set already everything is so confusing and you're not sure where to start, but when a piece is down it lays for a starting point and everything starts to fall in place. Wafer and Landry are simlar because they are decisive when they have the ball, but Battier is much more decisive on both ends. Remember, by "decisive" i don't mean better talent-wise, so i'm not evaluating who's better or more talented, i'm talking about being able to make solid decisions quickly.
thanks for educating us. would you be able to clarify what is active and what is passive? i got a little bit confused. my impression is you are active if you punch someone on his face. otherwise, you are passive. sorry about my low iq
How can he say this team minus Yao is not small? I know he has some stat guy crunching numbers, but I got a running total of points in the paint with and without yao and its really embarrassing. To call shane a big four, I guess being the 4th highest paid rocket gives him that title. GM's are always suppose to keep values up, so I'm not surprised.
Always the Shane hater. I was expecting leebigez to pop up and drop a few comments. Truth is, the difference in our defense Shane makes just by staying on the court is nothing short of amazing. He is the superstar of initiating team defense.
U think so? What about stagnating the offense? What about giving it up like Rev. Ike and the church funds? Did u see Kobe and Wade in the 4th qt?
DM is the GM so he can say whatever he wants.Battier is important but to include him as part of the big 4 is a joke despite his intangibles.
DM: I think by the trade deadline we'll do something. I think every year we've done something. Of course, how we're playing and who's healthy will really swing what happens, but I think history shows that there's always something that will happen at the deadline. I can smell a "big change"
Depends on how the team will mesh once Mac and Ron come back. If we come out on the same level as Orlando and Boston and Cleveland and the Lakers, nothing big's gonna happen.
